All international GM's, i was just wondering a couple of things.... and it would be very thankful if you helped me out here and just answered some questions...
1. Has U.S. President George Bush and the past 8 years had any impact on the way you perceive the United States? If so, What did you think previously? What do you think of Bush? What do you think of the war in Iraq?
2. President Barack Obama - sound good? What do you think of him?
Just wanted to find out what international gm's think about us, because sometimes Americans think that we are better than every one else, which leads to a holier than thou attitude, which leads to policing the world policies, which leads to the hatred of the U.S. by other countries.
Just for the record, i would classify myself politically as a left-leaning moderate. I believe in God, but my views and beliefs on the Bible and the Protestant religion, and organized religion in general are sort of fuzzy, and thats from studying it all my life. I supported Barack Obama in the 2008 Presidential Election, and even though i'm only 16 years old, i like to keep myself politically informed and active. I've come under alot of heat for supporting an abortion supporting gay marriage rights allowing presidential candidate in a christian school, so i kind of had to lol.
But yeah, just let me know what you think. If you have an opinion at all lol, i understand, i don't know whether i would care about it if i was in your position lol.

I honestly don't think this is the place for this at all, but since you are going to do it I want to make a prediction. Europeans Most of them will support Obama, but not much to impacting there life? All they know is they got a free rock concert to go be crazy for him, and they probably like rock music. Aussies: Support Mccain, they have no reason to support Obama. South American: I don't think they will care one way or the other, but probably will support Obama. Any kind of Middle Eastern Country/African: It's probably a big deal for people in Africa to have someone of the same skin color in office as them. It's also probably a big deal to the Middle Eastern Countries to have someone with the same name as them in office. Isreal: If they don't support Bush/Mccain their dumb, I believe most do.

i would say dude, if u do "believe in God" i put that in parentheses because I'm not sure what you mean by that. I'm a Christian and I can't really see a way someone who believes in CHRIST as their savior and is obeying the Bible can vote for someone who supports abortion and same-sex marriage. I'm no political mastermind but all I know is Christ died for me and I'm going to follow His Word and try my best to be like Him.

Being an "Internacional GM" I'lll have to say that here in Brazil "we" are supporting (I dont really care right now) Obama, and the War in Iraq (which I had to study about it in the school) only gave me a worse impression about the USA.

Yes, and I am against abortion and gay marriage but if he makes that legal only god can really judge us there. It's not like it will be the end of the world (at least human wise) or really hurt the country other than morally. Some of his other polices are nuts, period end of statement.

I know I said i woulnt post but i was rereading this and your not really getting what I'm saying. im not bashing gays, I wont judge people because thats not my business. what your not reading is that i said if someone is a Christian they wont marry someone of the same gender because they're following The Bible. sorry if this offends you but anything anybody says will always offend someone.

Actually I like this thread (and if I sounded rude in my first comment I apologies) because in a way we get to know about other GMs and their believes. And I want to point out that my first comment wasn't just against Christians (which I'm sure you and NY are) it was aiming at most religions who try and force others to go by what they believe. Now to get off of religion and on to Obama, I don't think all the people who voted for him support everything that he is for it's just that the public perception of the Republican party is at an all time low (and McCain voted to support G.W. Bush 95%) so voters wanted change. Like for instance if I would have voted I would have done so for Obama even though I don't believe in having an abortion after 5 months of pregnancy but overall I still believe him to be a better candidate then McCain.

Like for instance if I would have voted I would have done so for Obama even though I don't believe in having an abortion after 5 months of pregnancy but overall I still believe him to be a better candidate then McCain. Well I'm not talking about abortion either, if Obama would change his stances on The War, Energy, Border Control, Education, Economics, and many other issues he might be okay. Obama has A LOT of baggage and more of it is starting to come out with this Illinois Governor, but let's not get into that. If not one cared about Jeremiah Wright then I guess there is no reason to talk about it. This is the #1 REASON why I think Obama is dangerous, and want everyone to hear it just in case you care. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jc2FCJ7zWEQBut back to his issues, the main one for me is the war...you can say what you want about why we went to Iraq but we did do it. I'm not defending Bush, the way the media has blamed EVERYTHING on him (though congress has a lower approval rating than him, but you don't know that unless you research or take a class or something.) We are now reeking the benefits of Iraq (look at gas prices to see that.) If we withdraw in 16 months (like Obama wanted to do during the primary) gas will go back up to $4-$5 dollars a gallon if not more. We have to stay there now, no if's and's or but's about it because we need gas to stay the same. Obama then decides once Hillary is beat that he wants to "listen to commanders on the ground." I hate to tell you folks but Hillary Clinton would have beaten his ass if he hadn't just LIED his ass off and the liberal media supported him. I don't know what he's gonna do, if he stays he is a liar and if he leaves he is a dumb ass. He lied to win the presidency, that and Mccain ran a dumb f**k campaign. I understand why you didn't vote for Mccain, he didn't say anything or challenge Obama on any of his baggage or issues. Hillary should be president, that simple. I voted for Hillary in the primary and proud to say I did, because it's not going to be pretty with Obama.

1. I have nothing but love for the usa and iraq and bush has no impact on me. But the people around me who follow politics or are colour hate the usa and bush. Through out my high school day i've notice the more educated people hating on the usa for their past and their impact on the middle east. In my experience in life I've notice people hating on the usa since bush took office and most of this hate has to do with their impact in the middle east and mainly being a bullying on this planet.
2. Everybody loves obama...i'll be honest no one where i'm from knew his political view just that he was black. That shit tooks off like crooked crack in canada u saw people rocking obama tshirts.

I believe our number one priority in the United States should be restoring the image of the United States in the World's eyes. When people like you, times usually are good. We are making way too many enemies for my liking. And Obama is the only candidate who touched on that. McCain made it seem to me that the United States will do whatever the hell it wants, because we're just that good. And that attitude is what got us into the mess in Iraq, and Vietnam back in the 70's. And lets face it, Iraq was a mistake. We had the worlds sympathy after 9/11, and we threw it all away for Iraq. We weren't greeted as liberators. Why didn't we invade Cuba too and take down Castro? As for Energy, McCain is dead wrong on offshore drilling. There is not enough oil in Alaska to make us energy independent. The only way to become energy independent is to invest in alternative forms of energy. And your "reaping the benefits Iraq" statement is the very reason why the world hates us. Your condoning destroying the freedom of the Iraqi people because of our selfish need for oil? Wow.

When people like you, times usually are good. We are making way too many enemies for my liking. It doesn't matter what you do to the majority of the world is going to hate us. You can't negotiate with Islamic Radicals, plain and simple. The majority of the Islamic Governments at least do nothing to stop these radicals from doing chicken shit things to Israel(most of all), us, and any civilized nation. Why do they do these things? I'm not sure, some say it's in there religion to do so but I'm not expert on it. Tell me IN DETAIL what Mr. B Hussien Obama plans to "touch" in getting people to like us? I mean from what I heard (course I'm just a right wing nut right? As you said "people like me") but all he said he was going to do was "talk" to them. YOU DON'T THINK PEOPLE HAVEN'T BEEN TRYING TO TALK TO PALESTINE SINCE 1948? I mean are they going to listen to him because his middle and last name are Muslim? I want you in detail to explain to me what he is going to do that other people haven't tried, and is it because his middle name is Hussien so now he can get results? All he has to do is get rid of our SDI Defense for Russia and not help Israel and people will love us, that is until Israel is destroyed and who do you think is next? Just think about that for a second and give me your best answer. You are right it's the same thing, we didn't want N. Vietnam to take S. Vietnam to stop the spread of communism. We attacked Iraq because Saddam was helping terrorist, you can say whatever the f**k you want but there is proof. He was giving money to Palestine families to send there children to blow themselves up, ANYONE who does that doesn't need to be in power. What happened in both cases? Poor military execution, well that is until we listened to Senator (and Republican Nominee for President hmm...) John Mccain's "Surge Plan" which has eliminated lots of deaths of soldiers. Are you kidding me? People in Iraq, Iran, Palestine and all over the middle east were SO HAPPY after 9/11. Burning American Flags and chanting horrible things in there language. And I don't know why we didn't invade, why don't you ask Mr. "God of the Democrat Party" John F. Kennedy? I'm sure somehow Bush as a little kid should have done something about it, I mean that's the solution to everything "change," "hope," and blame Bush. You know this how? You are like 16, there are PLENTY of people (that I know) that say there is. Democrats for years have been saying "it's cause of the f**king Ozone Layer and Global Warming" but now that that Earth was colder for the 1st time in like 20 years that is out the door "now there isn't enough oil." Hell the guy that bought it Secretary of State Seward OIL IS WHAT HE HAD IN MIND, and we have NEVER used it. Also there is a difference between "off shore drilling" and "drilling in Alaska." France drills for oil in the middle of the ocean, and why can't we? Because of the Ozone Layer? There is plenty of oil in Alaska to last until we develop those "alternative forms of energy." I for one don't want to be paying $4 Dollars a gallon for gas, not sure about you. If I have to pay $4 dollars a gallon and people like me, or $2 and people dislike me I'm taking 2 and being hated EVERYTIME. I guess you 'RE not able to drive, because WE my friend are paying reasonable gas price because we invaded Iraq. No one would give a f**k about Iraq if it didn't have oil and it's the truth, if it didn't have oil we would have just bombed the shit out of them until they give us Saddam. Didn't want to damage those pipelines, and that's why we had to try to take it over. Wow you have the audacity to say that to me?
