As far as the first round I am really looking forward to Houston/Portland obviously, I think Oden is going to have to have an impact for Portland to win...but I think Houston should get it done. Obviously Miami/Atlanta will be the best series, I can't wait to see how that one plays out. Utah/Lakers will be fun, I'll take LA but you never know Utah is a good team (though Sloan sucks against Phil.) And of course watching Cleveland sweep Detroit will be fun to watch, since I hate Detroit

wow...I like the Bulls and hate the Magic but I don't have enough balls to pick them over ORL...they have a chance though because Orlando is a streaky shooting team.

Yeah that's why I picked the Bulls to beat them, and not only do they get streaky with their shooting but it seems like they forget about D12 at times and shoot wild 3 instead of getting him the ball.

I agree with that, what if the Bulls start playing "Nellie Ball?" Small ball with all those guards, it'd be a different look and putting Deng at the 4 (if he's healthy) against Glenn Davis and/or Rashard Lewis? Get out and really run, maybe some 3 guards sets with Rose/Hinrich/Gordon? I think it could give Boston and/or Orlando a lot of problems...what do you Bulls fans think of that?

Why does EVERYONE pick against the Rockets? Blazers dont lose in Portland. If Houston is going to win this series, they are going to have to steal one on the road. I just dont see it. I really don't put much stock into home court, but Portland has 7 home loses, Houston has 8, Lakers 5, Boston 6, Orlando 9, and Cleveland has 2 (really 1.) They aren't that impressive on the road in comparison to other good teams, and this is the playoffs. The home team wins more in the regular season because the teams don't play as hard. I don't care how good that big white boy is, if Oden doesn't give them anything Houston will kick their ass. Other than Roy and Aldridge what do they have? I'd take Artest over Roy (for this year) and Yao over Aldridge (anytime.) I personally like Outlaw (though Portland doesn't seem too) but I know Blake is weak. I don't know much about Rudy but I would probably take Battier over him. Batum, Sergio, or Bayless are young and don't have good stats, I'd take Wafer and Brooks in a heart beat. I just don't think they can match up with Houston, maybe I'm a homer but just my 2 cents.

Blake trounces any PG Houston has. Brooks and Lowery? I mean come on!! If Blake is weak, what are Brooks and Lowery?
Battier is having his worst season in a long time shooting the 3. Houston isnt very deep either. After Vafer and Landry on the bench, I dont necessarily trust anyone on that bench. Ill take a Rudy/Outlaw/Sergio/Frye/Pryzbilla bench over anyone on Houston's. Just my opinion.
Lets see what the resident Blazer fan on this forum has to say about the series...Utah where ya at?

When Blake was with Denver he sucked, he was such a defensive liability...and I think it's mostly because he's not athletic enough to play defense on that level. If he really is Portland's starter they are in trouble, I doubt he's changed. Brooks is a damn good scoring PG, and with Blake at the PG he won't be a big defensive liability. Lowry is a good defender, I think he'll be valuable most teams but maybe not Portland. In ANY case they are both better than Steve Blake when he was with Denver, and I doubt he has gotten any better. Artest/Battier will SHUTDOWN Roy, and like I said Oden better give them something because Yao is going to eat Portland's lunch if not. And if I'm not mistake some of the guys you listed start. Houston's bench of Lowry/Wafer/Barry/Landry/Mutombo is a better than all those inexperienced players.

I'm right here. Homerism aside, I'd still take Portland in 6. The Blazers are on a roll right now, and have all the cockiness and confidence in the world. Brandon Roy has something to prove, I'd be surprised if Artest/Battier could lock him down, if he's the superstar he is. As for your knock on Blake, he is not a bad athlete. The other day on the radio, Channing Frye was on, and said so himself that Blake is, pound-for-pound, the best athlete on the team. Match-up wise, the Blazers have the edge at PG, SG, and PF. For Yao, we have Przybilla and Oden (who, as Charlotte mentioned, will have to prove himself) to throw at him. Batum can match up nicely with Artest, and our bench is sick-nasty, this is the one the put up 72 yesterday on the Nuggets btw. Being inexperienced most likely won't affect them much yet, they're on a mission, they're young, no one can tell them otherwise. The Portland crowd won't let the team lose, and they didn't in the one game the teams played in Portland. Sorry if I was rambling. Long day at school. And it's kinda hot here.

I think the only position Portland wins at is PF (Aldridge over Scola.) MAYBE Outlaw over Battier, but Shane can do some things (ala Tim Duncan) that are value able. I'm telling you Brooks and Lowry are a great duo, Blake (unless he has gotten better) can't hold either one of their jokes. I think the inexperience will play a HUGE role in the game, plus Houston is hungry to prove they can get out of the 1st round. People underestimate Houston all the time, it's time to change that! PS. Thank you Miami, FINALLY someone picks Houston.

I doubt the Blazers are even thinking about inexperience right now. They wanna win, and will feed off the fans. If the Blazers can control the tempo, and run it, don't expect Yao to be much of a factor. Btw, did Tim Duncan ever do anything to you for you to hate on him like that?
