Elton Brand is in line for MVP this year! He is carrying this team through the early part of the season, and is a great player everyone should want on their team.

The Clippers have made a big move to free up Cap Space. Over the next 4 years, they will be saving over 22 Million dollars. They also got back two decent players with cheap salaries. Ilyasova and Markota won't be centerpieces by any means, but both are very young and should be able to contribute when given time.
This is the beginning of a youth movement and a sign of looking to the future. Tim Thomas played well for us while he was here, but he was not worth the money or the number of years he was signed for, at least not for the Clippers.
Looking to next year...

The Clippers have pulled off a huge deal that will result in many years of youth being injected into the team. When the new Ownership took over and installed a new GM, he said he would bring youth to this team, and build a championship roster for many years to come. He did not like all of the large contracts, where he felt many players were overpaid, or locked in for too long.
The deal will send out Elton Brand, who has been great for the franchise for many many years, but will bring in Adam Morrison, a top 5 draft pick from this last class, Darko Milicic, a top 3 draft pick in the draft of 2003 that included LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh, among others, and Rajon Rondo, a pass first PG who will help to relieve Shaun Livingston from time to time. In addition to these three great young players, all in their early 20's, the deal bring 3 1st round draft picks over the next 2 drafts, as well as a 2nd round draft pick in this years draft.
With all of these pieces, the GM of the Clippers says he is still looking to make a few moves to get the team ready for Free Agency next season.

The Clippers have completed moves for youth and draft picks. The ownership is very happy with the new direction of the team, as Cuttino Mobley is now one of the only pieces left that don't fit the new direction of the team. We love what Cuttino has done for us over the years, but during the offseason we will be looking to move him to a contending team so he can have a shot at a ring in the more near future.
We now have 3 1st round and 2 2nd round picks in 2007, as well as 4 1st round and 1 2nd round pick in 2008.
After getting Andrew Bogut, our starting lineup now features a 22 year old C in Darko Milicic, a 22 year old PF in Andrew Bogut, a 23 year old SF in Rodney Carney, a 23 year old SG in Adam Morrison, and a 22 year old PG in Shaun Livingston. Our team has a very bright future, and with all of the draft picks things are only looking up for the future. We also have a 21 year old backup C, a 20 year old backup SF, and a 21 year old backup PG. We will have over 33 million dollars in cap space which we can use to sign top draft picks or some possible big free agent signings.
Stay tuned Los Angeles, the most exciting show in town is now the Clippers!

The Clippers have not yet been able to complete a trade to send out Cuttino Mobley this offseason, but did make a trade that will help the team a lot in the coming years. The Clippers sent their two 2nd round picks to the Lakers for their 1st round pick in this years draft, the 25th pick in the draft. With the 25th pick, the Clipps selected Rudy Fernandez, a 22 year old guard who recently won FIBA's European Player of the Year over Andrea Bargnani, among the other great players now in Europe.
The team had plenty of players before the trade happened, and could not have been happier with the outcome of the deal.
Look for more moves throughout the season as the GM looks to finish off his rebuilding project.
And don't forget, 4 1st round picks in the upcoming draft!
