The Lakers match ORL and CHA's offer but with a different contract from them
Year 1: $6,000,000 Year 2: $5,500,000 Year 3: $5,500,000 Year 4: $5,500,000 (Player Option) Year 5: $5,500,000 (Player Option)
28 million dollars
We want him to be our 6th man, but he MAY also get a chance to start at SG (if we don't start any FA, and Kobe Bryant will be slided to Small Forward).
Primarily we want him to be our 6th man.

The Orlando Magic would like to offer Shannon a 5 year deal worth $28 million
2009-2010: $5,000,000 2010-2011: $5,000,000 2011-2012: $5,500,000 (Player Option) 2012-2013: $6,000,000 (Player Option) 2012-2014: $6,500,000 (Player Option)
Total Salary: 68,950,950
We are in desperate need of a backup PG off the bench. He is our #1 option at the point behind Baron. Marko Jaric is a non-factor and will ride the IR all year.

We match ORL's offer

Alright, 1st off, I deleted some posts that don't have any relevance, and also deleted DET's posts as he has withdrawn his offer. And, I took Lakers' last post that had a new offer in it and put it in his first post in this thread. Now down to the serious business.
Phoenix and Golden State, your offers are not going to work for Shannon. There is a ton more money out there and basically equal to better playing time available, so unless you match the money (including length of contract), we are not even going to look at your offers anymore.
So we are down to the Lakers, Magic, and Bobcats. As of now, the best money is from the Lakers, b/c ORL and CHA's offers have the 5th year as a Team Option, which is non-guaranteed. That will heavily factor in to our decision if the contracts remain as they are.
As for playing time, here's what we are seeing...
ORL - We see Shannon would be the backup PG, at least for now...you are notorious for making moves, and I have some inside information that you are currently looking to trade for a backup PG even now, so the words "he will be our backup PG" just do not mean quite as much from you as they could from another GM. We are not questioning your honesty, just that you make a lot of moves and are always looking to better your team. If you find a better option at backup PG, we know you'd go for it in an instant.
CHA - You need to update your Salary Chart before you can really do anything. Also an updated current Depth Chart would be nice, so we could tell where Shannon might fit in on your team. What kind of Playing Time are you offering him?
LAL - Shannon clearly likes your money the most, as it is also the most committed offer in terms of length, while keeping the amount of money the same as the other two offers per year. Playing time, it looks like you have just as much available as anyone else, which is great. Right now, you are probably the front-runner for Shannon considering the PT is the same or better than the other two, and the money is more.
Waiting to hear back from both ORL and CHA with any responses they might like to give.

Offer updated first off with a player option as the final year and slight increase in overall money.
Second, we have opening at BOTH SG and PG positions on the depth chart and whatever wouldn't be filled by trade would be filled with Shannon.
Our second lineup looks like this currently;
C - Brandon Bass PF - Hakim Warrick SF - Donte Greene SG - ?? (Anthony Parker...nuff said) PG - ?? (Marko Jaric...nuff said)
Gomes has no real place on my team currently so I wanted to deal him to fill the other guard slot in the depth chart. If Shannon wanted to fill our backup PG, as I mentioned, then we would change our current trade offers to acquire a SG. We feel Shannon is talented enough to fill that backup slot so please be assured that if Shannon were to sign with the Magic, our trade efforts would NOT overlap Shannon's position. His spot is saved.

Ok...I'm going to ask that offers be frozen where they are. The money should not go any higher, and at this point all offers are basically the same. So here's what I want
Each Team give me some reasons why your team is the best situation, and why the other teams are not as good as your situation for Shannon.

Shannon has a chance to be a 6th man of the year candidate for my team as well as receive a lot of playing time when KB and Kidd are taking breaks, and he could possibly be a starter at SG (Kobe would then slide over to SF), if not that then potentially he could replace Jason Kidd at PG when he decides to call it quits.
So we offer a variety of things to Mr. Brown, 6th man of the year candidate or a potential starting spot in the future or even now if circumstances works itself out (as a starter for the team).
Why Orlando wouldn't be in a good situation for Mr. Brown
He has A. Parker and M. Jaric on the team, and now he is planning to trade Gomes for another GUARD, how is Mr. Brown going to get any playing time if he's going to be behind Baron Davis, CDR, Parker, Jaric, and possibly another guard.
The biggest reason why he would not be a fit with Orlando is because of the MAD SCIENTIST syndrome, ORL has made it known all and every players (EXCEPT players from Cuse) can be traded away at anytime, anyplace, and anywhere.
Why Charlotte wouldn't be in a good situation for Mr. Brown
Now CHA is not a mad scientist at all, but touches are going to be a issue as well as playing time, he has Billups, Iverson, Stuckey, Barea, Jones, Stevenson, and Wafer NUFF SAID, talk about not getting a chance at all, it's nice making money but as a player you want playing time as well.

Why Orlando would be the best fit? 1) Title contender and enough youth to last years and years. Not to mention the two lottery picks I hold for next season. 2) Shannon, as previously stated and misread by LAL, would be our backup G. We have Jaric and Smush but currently one is riding the IR and the other is only on the depth chart as a formality. They both BLOW and Shannon is head and tails better than them IRL and in ratings in this game. So to say that he would lose touches to two scrubs who I fully expect to relegate to the IR is absurd. 3) Although we can not promise 6th man status off the bat, Shannon is our primary backup to replace Baron and CDR currently and although I am trying to acquire another guard, that is simply for depth and not to replace Shannon. 4) In response to the Mad Scientist comment, yes I have been known to trade at will but I can NOT deal him till well into December even if I wanted to and regardless, if Shannon plays well then he will remain on the team. Plain and simple. 5) We have included three player options for the final three years so if Shannon does outgrow his contract, ours is the deal he could opt out of earliest. 6) Our starting SG currently is CDR who is only 2 ratings points above him in the game and IRL not a whole lot better so there is always the possibility that if CDR does not mix well in the starting five then Shannon would be option #1 to start.
Why LAL would suck? Duncan, Kidd and Kobe are on the down swing of their careers. LAL has no youth and therefore, no future. Outside of Duncan, Kidd and Kobe, LAL has no team! It's all scrubs. So yes, in one way that could mean more PT but on the other hand...if one of these aging veterans does get injured...you can kiss any hopes of post season play good-bye.
Why CHA would suck? I'm not entirely convinced CHA even wants Shannon other than to screw with my hopes to improve my team. As LAL said, he has loads and loads of guard depth and there is zero chance Shannon has the 6th man spot ahead of Stuckey! Stuckey would also be the primary replacement should Billups or Iverson go down.

First thing here I will do is Eliminate Charlotte from any chance at getting Shannon Brown. We do not feel he is taking this seriously, and besides that, the PT looks to be the smallest out of the 3 teams, so sorry Kitties, you are out of the running for Shannon's Services.
As for LAL and ORL, Shannon will think on this and decide probably tomorrow, possibly later tonight but probably tomorrow.

Shannon and I have been looking over both teams and both situations for hours last night and today, and have finally come to a decision.
Mr. Brown will sign with the Los Angeles Lakers. While Kobe and Duncan and Kidd are getting older, all 3, especially Kobe and Duncan, should have at least a few great years left in them, and will still be good for a few years after those great years. Also, LA has a solid eye for young talent as well, and has already started addressing the youth factor with a couple guys like James Johnson coming into the fold. We are also taking a small chance that LA may not get a suitable SF to start (very possible that he does not find one) and then Shannon would be starting.
Thank you to everyone else, especially Orlando, for your interest in Shannon's services. We regret that there is only one Shannon to go around, but the tough decision has finally been made.
Update your Chart ASAP LAL.
