Mr. Maxiell will be given every opportunity to win the starting power forward job. Even if he doesn't win the starting role he will the the first big off the bench and spot Nene at center. The Hawks would love to welcome Maxiell into the fold.

Seeing as ATL currently has the only offer out for Jason, he will be accepting unless someone else offers a contract to him by the end of the day today. The situation seems nice in ATL with a possible starting PF job or the primary backup PF/C, and the money is good enough for a player of Jason's caliber.
Again, if no more offers come in today, Mr. Maxiell will accept the Hawks' offer.
