I would like to sign Corey to a 3 year contract with the third year being a team option. We view Maggette as a starter and he will definitely start at SF for the Blazers. He forms a nice guy running the wings with Roy. In this offense, Maggette will be a top 3 scoring option and will get plenty of time in the Blazers Quest for a championship. The first year salary is $1 million more then he was making the year before and it only goes up from there.

Corey appreciates the offer and is ok with the years. However, he would like to see some more money in the deal. In your offer he is only guaranteed 16.5 mil. He is averaging 20+ points in real life with 6 rebounds and shooting over 50% from the field. If I was to hit free-agency I know I could get more money. I would also prefer that the team option is taken out. We look forward to your response.

We as the Portland Trailblazers feel that Corey is a key cog in our attempt at the NBAL Championship. Thus we will accept your demands. We have kept the deal at 3 years, and the third year in now a player instead of team option. The salary is $1 million more each year then the original offer. We feel that the increase in salary and the player option are enough to make Corey feel at home in the Pacific Northwest.
