False reports came out of San Antonio the last time we reported. However, Gilbert Arenas has found his way to the great city of San Antonio. The 'gunslinger' has found his way to the Alamo and will be playing point guard for the next 4 years after reaching an agreement with General Manager Bradley Jasper.
The moves have been coming out fast here in San Antonio and we have not had the time to report on them as of late. However, the draft led to a time that has not been seen since Tim Duncan was drafted. The Spurs went into the draft with four first-round draft picks, and left the draft with zero players being signed. Stephen Curry, the third overall pick, was traded along with Jose Calderon to the Portland Trailblazers for Devin Harris and Travis Outlaw. This move came as a shock, Stephen Curry, in the real life realm, has been playing extremely well and even as of last night had a triple-double in a win.
Another shocking move came as the New York Knicks came a calling for Al Harrington and, the recently acquired, Devin Harris. The Spurs acquired high-flying superstar Andre Iguadala and Kendrick Perkins.
The Gilbert Arenas move shipped away Jamal Crawford, who was acquired for the draft rights to Dejaun Blair, Mark Madsen and Juan Carlos Navarro. The Spurs also traded away their first round draft pick in the 2010 draft, which could end being a lottery pick due to the difficulty of the Western Conference. In addition to receiving Mr. Arenas, who may face jail time for his gun-pulling incident, the Spurs received Kyle Korver.
The Spurs are still trying to cope with the fact that they are going to have a very difficult time competing but they are going to make a run at the playoffs.
They feel as if anything can happen, and with a solid lineup and a few upcoming stars, they can do anything.
