Recently this off-season, the Utah Jazz GM has been looking to possible deals to improve on their playoff run. The Jazz made it to the 2nd round before getting eliminated by the defending and eventual 2-time NBAL champion New Orleans Hornets. This series had an anticipated PG matchup between 2 of the young PG studs in the league, Deron Williams and Chris Paul. The matchup didn't neccasarily live up to its hype, as both struggled to put up big numbers. This was big news in Utah, as the Mormons didn't like to see their franchise PG struggle, therefore having the Jazz put Williams on the block. That series was not the first time Deron had put up sub-par numbers, as he couldn't lead the team at all throughout the playoffs. Rumors out of Salt Lake City have said that Deron and Zydrunas Ilguaskas have been offered to Indiana for Dwyane Wade, Udonis Haslem, among other players. The GM of the Orlando Magic have also shown interest in Williams, and it's rumored that Al Jefferson and Jameer Nelson may have been coming to Utah. These talks though, could be all for not, and that they could just be a smokescreen for what's really happening. The Jazz now, seem to have taken Williams off the block, and now are looking to move Ilgauskas and Jefferson instead. The Jazz GM is said to be wanting to move Big Z for a SG, and Jefferson for a PF/C. We'll have to see, though, how things play out, and how the Jazz plan to improve on an injury-riddled season this year.
