This is a thread where you campaign for your guy to be the MVP of your team and the league and where you pull out all the stops to make sure he wins the MVP by posting stats and everything else needed to make sure he gets the award.

If you guys want this can also be the thread for 6th man of year, ROY, MIP, COY, and DPOY as well as ALL NBA team and defensive team awards.

Okay I'll start off then

Kobe Bryant should win this year's MVP.

he is 3rd in scoring and 7th in steals overall.

he has better statistics then Ray Allen, D-Wade, Mike Redd, and Kevin Martin (who are all in the playoffs) everywhere except for FG and 3 pt shooting.

Also you look at his numbers with guys playing other position besides SG he has comparable numbers to them too such as Deron Williams and Shaq from OKC, and T-Mac and Manu Ginobli of the Mavs and Paul Pierce, Allen Iverson, and Jose Calderon of the Heat all who of whom are in the playoffs and has GREAT SUPPORTING CASTS.

you look at KB's supporting cast compared to the others you would notice the huge differences between how good the other MVP's candidates team's are and how bad KB's supporting casts are.

Without KB the Lakers are not even a 10 win team they are probably worse then the Chicago Bulls who barely got 10 wins this year.

So I hope the associated press and committee members look at everything from stats and supporting cast and see that KB is the MVP of this league.

Dirk Nowitzki should win this year's MVP, HANDS DOWN.

He led the league in scoring, having played for OKC and MEM. With just Memphis his numbers are (in 57 games):

WHICH BLOWS ALL OF THE OTHER SCORERS OUT OF THE WATER.
Furthermore, in the last 49 games of the season (since I acquired Battier + Chandler), he has been averaging 26.4PPG.

He has scored over 30 points NINETEEN TIMES for Memphis, his highest being 45 points.

And he lead Memphis to 50 wins, with a record of 40-20 since I traded for him.

Kobe Bryant shouldn't win MVP, his team didnt even make the playoffs, and had more losses (51) then Memphis had wins (50)

If you look at the other MVP Candidates, you'll see that Dirk had a higher PPG then all of them (in fact only West averaged at least 20ppg).

The only reason that his RPG numbers aren't as great is because he played with Chandler who averaged 10.3rpg, all the other candidates led their team in rebounds because they were the primary rebounders.

So in summary, I think Dirk should win the MVP because he led Memphis to 50 wins and led the league in scoring doing it, while shooting very good percentages.

Dirk, Kobe, Duncan would be my top 3 in no particular order.

First of all i would say this: he led the hornets to league best and NBAL record 71 wins!

he is consistent all year long. his numbers are down compared to last year but only because he gives way to his other teammates especially to someone i think should also be a candidate for Most improved player: Marcus Camby who i thought would only be a defensive presence for my team but he has shown otherwise and has been phenomenal offensively for the team this season and i thought that when i traded my other stars especially Paul i thought that i wouldn't have a very successful season compared to last year but Duncan managed to keep the team perform at a high level and even make NBAL history! Even though duncan's numbers are down come on where would you see this kind of statline? he gives out a good number of assists for a big man and even when he has camby down low with him his rebound average is still one of the best in the league! and considering his position he might be one of the best big man ball thiefs in the league and not to mention he leads the league in blocks! sure you can say his ppg is only average compared to the others but its because he lets others do the scoring for him hence camby happened and you know Duncan can drop 40 or 50 points if he wants to ask those who witnessed it first hand last year and this year.

game 2 of this years 1st round playoffs against houston:

37 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 3 blocks and 76% shooting from the best

so you can see that he steps his game up when needed especially when its the playoffs.

So in conclusion i think Duncan deserves the award not only was he great statistically on offense and defense but he has also managed to give one thing that you dont see in the stat sheets which is make his teammates better like when steve nash did it with the suns back in 2005 IRL. Duncan did it with the hornets this year which resulted to a very spectacular regular season and once again 71 WINS BABY!

My team don't really have a mvp material but my vote would go to Tim Duncan.

Elton Brand didn't put up big enough numbers as these guys but i'd vote for Nowitzki if i had a vote.

Since my team is doesnt really have someone with great stats my vote would be Dirk because he put up some monster numbers. Leading the League in scoring while bringing down 7 rebounds and almost 4 assist.
