Who won this deal? How does this affect the playoff picture? How does this affect both teams present and future?

Dick Vitale: The way I see this trade unfolding baby is Houston isn't a contender and they get a young stud in OJ Mayo baby, who tore it up for the Trojans of USC in college baby. They also get Jamison, and though it's been in Antawn Jamison was sick for Providence baby! Okafor who was a BEAST at Uccon baby is a nice big back for Al Jefferson, so is a legit stud out of Highschool baby! 23 and 11 is sick, if only Bobby (Knight) would have gotten a hold of him baby! Rip Hamilton from Connecticut is better than Mayo at this point baby, and can help the Raptors win a title baby! Chris Wilcox could always get a few rebounds at Maryland baby, and now he can do this for the Raptors.
As for who wins this trade, it's close but I am going with THE TORONTO RAPTORS BABY!!!!!!!! simply because a title > getting younger. Very nice deal for the Houston Rockets though, Mayo should be the face of the franchise.

Gotta go with Toronto on this deal. Toronto with big al is now again a contender. Plus for the future mayo and okafur will be sick but tawn will be on the decline when they break out. But Big al is already an all star caliber player at the age of 23, mayo might do the same someday and okafur might do it also, but its a chance. For the future going to go with Toronto cause BIG AL is already that type of a player u would want mayo to be. Plus I'm bias i prefer bigs over guards.

good point denver. But what about the decline of Rip and the literal falling off the map of Wilcox? Thats what i see as balancing out this deal. Al is solid and on the rise, Rip is on the decline, Wilcox cant get any minutes in real life and is literally averaging 7 ppg.
Mayo is on the upswing and he is very young (19.2 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg), Okafor is a solid solid young big (14.1 ppg, 10.7 rpg) and Twan is still Twan for now (21.5 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 2 apg). None of these guys should get declines where as Rip might get a small decline and Wilcox should get one for sure>>>>

www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKhP3PnB_xMListen to the first 11 seconds, these are wise words by the Big Aristotle (when is he not wise? He's been doing the same thing since 1992 Anyways winning a championship takes EVERYTHING you not, you don't need potential if you are going to win it all. That's why I like this move for Toronto. it's good for Houston too but I love seeing people try to win a title.

So if Toronto doesnt win the title this year, would this trade lean towards Houston's favor?

Yes but Toronto has two more years with rip before it starts to decline and wilcox might help then win this year. But as i said I'm bias with the bigs....i fell like big al is a better pieces to build around after his contender ship status expires.

So if Toronto doesnt win the title this year, would this trade lean towards Houston's favor? no because u have chances that can pay off big time but Toronto worst case still has a legit all star in big al with some veterans .

IMO, a very risky move for Toronto. Rip isn't the player he once was and has a much larger contract than Mayo. Mayo is having a great first year for Memphis and has definitely shown signs of being a player you can build around. Advantage Houston.
Jamison, Okafor for Big Al and Wilcox is quite fair but if I'd had to pick, advantage Houston. Yes, Toronto gets a bonafide big in Big Al but Wilcox will definitely not be an 80 next season. He has fallen off the map the past few seasons in OKC and now NY. Okafor has elevated his game with the arrival of Diaw and has shown that he can reach the potential he showed in his rookie year and Jamison is still capable of 20/10. Overall, Toronto is putting all the chips on the table to win this year, if it doesn't pay off they still have Big Al but the supporting cast took a big hit. Smart move by Houston seeing as how they weren't going to contend for a title this year with the current core.

Well i honsetly dont see me winning, im building up for it tho. This is what i figured, build with O.J (who is great) or build around Jefferson. Easy one eh? lol Rip, not a big fan of either but he's a SG which should help me. Then Wilcox, lets just say there was a reason why he was in the deal. u guys will fine out pretty soon
