We go by Fahrenheit and I'm pretty sure Aussie goes by Celsius, I don't know the conversion of the top of my head but thought I'd add that before people start making fun of Indy.

Here in Arizona we had a day of around 120 degrees, which would be around 49 degrees celsius.

basically over 700 homes and 200 people have been killed in these fires SO FAR, and the numbers are still rising. it was a massive fire potentially started by arsonists. bad conditions with bad arsonists isnt a good mix.
aparently it burnt 4000-5000 hectares in about 15 minutes so people didnt have much time to escape.
ill give you 1 tradjic story:
A man was with his 2 kids when he saw the fires so he decided to take the kids to their friends place about 20 minutes away to a nearby surburb to keep them safe. once he dropped off his 2 kids there he wanted to go back to his house because the fire was heading towards his suburb so he went to get all his possesions and belongings, little knowing the the winds had changed the direction of the fires towards where his kids were and his kids and friends died in the fires and his house nor possesions were damaged.
