Lol, yeah, I read about that. The coach couldn't call off their players? Or lay off on the defense a little late in the game? 100-0 is kinda messed up.

I agree with you guys, he should be fired for what he did, you teach sportsmanship and life lesson in anything at High School and College Sports.
ONLY in the PROS all bets are off.
That's why I didn't have a problem with the Pats running up the score last year, because you get paid millions and millions to stop them and you can't even F'ing do that.

yeah recently my team was beating a team pretty bad so our coach told us to slow it down, run some clock and dont guard past the three point line. we still won 73-14 and me and det and the rest of the starters never finished a quarter.
i think that coach needs to learn some class, you dont destroy a team that bad. theres no logical reason to do that

I've been on all sides of this, there a 3A school in texas (I went there later ironically) with an "enrollment" of 999 (it was more like 1,200 when I went there but whatever) against schools with 300 kids. In junior high they were in our district, and one team beat them and we got close once but most games they'd win by at least 25-30 because they would wear you down. They man pressed the whole game and would bring subs in at every half quarter, super deep. The 2 bad teams in the district use to get beat like 70-6 and they always told us they kept pressing and pressing, it's classless but I don't think you fire a coach or anything. Karma will bit them in the ass, just gotta do your best. Now forfeiting is chicken shit, play the game. Basketball is still fun even if you are down 100-0.
On a side note, we beat one of those "running dogs" 38-2 first game of my 7th grade year, and my last game in 8th grade they beat us in OT (are coaches was retarded but whatever.)

Theres one thing that would make up my mind on this, and that's if the coach continued to full-court press. Then, obviously there was a desire to just embarrass rather than win.
Saying "They continued to make three pointers" doesn't do anything for me, what do you expect them to do? Drive off of fast breaks for the easy layup? If the 100-0 victory was achieved by just a great shooting night by the second team, rather than with a full-court press with your starters, than i wouldn't have that much regret if i was him. Especially with it being a girls team. Girls teams can be VERY bad at basketball mind you lol.

With this tho, I think what the man and his team did is justify. From what i herd they were shit at one time. The way i play the game u always should have respect for your opponent but you should always give 100%.

All I gotta to say to this is it would NEVER happen (at least without "incident") if boys were playing instead of girls. The reason I say this is I played Y-ball one year ago and our team was made up of free agents. Only one guy on the team was in great shape but we played this team that had basically three teams since they had like 16 guys and rotated 5 in at a time. They ran and ran and ran the ENTIRE game. They were up by 40 something at the half and kept on full court and half court pressing. They also cherry picked the ENTIRE game. Now that is classless. At the end of the game I didn't even do the whole high five and say "good game". I've never been so pissed that I wanted to actually hurt someone during a game but I was close in that game.
It wasn't even the fact that we were getting beat but the fact that they went up by 70 points and continued to disrespect us by pressing and cherry picking. There is no reason for that except to disrespect someone. They also weren't stealing the ball from us legitimately. They hacked and hacked until the ball was on the floor and then half court passed to the cherry picker. We wouldn't have won that game anyway because we shot terribly and they were getting a ton of rebounds since they didn't have anyone under 6'4" but that terrible display of sportsmanship soured me on playing any type of organized basketball in the future unless I know everyone on my team.
