Hey guys,
Please help me out with this, I am doing some very basic market research here, but would you pay for the ESPN Insider account if you also got to enter sim leagues that are run by ESPN for various sports...not just NBA but all sports for that matter.
Reasoning: I am currently about to head out into the job market and I was wondering if it'd be worth my time to create some sort of business plan to present ESPN for an entirely new section of fantasy sports. They would be ESPN-run EA Sports/2k series leagues for any and all sports where all stats are updated through the site under strict, and orderly guidelines. In my mind, they would coincide with the real leagues/dates/game times and you could essentially be the GM of your own sports team and keep track of everything.
Would you guys pay the ESPN Insider fee if you also got to get exclusive entrance into these leagues? ($40 - 1 year, $60 2 years)
Please give me some reasoning if you could...and any suggestions are welcome. If this is legit, I may actually try and make this happen since I have some connections there and could have a long-shot at pitching this to them! THANK YOU!

Well, if I had a job and income, I probably would, but seeing as I'm a sophomore, and can't afford much at all, I don't think I'd be able to.

Why would you need an ESPN insider account to join a sim league? Im kinda confused on that.

well, you can play regular fantasy games without paying... not sure why someone would pay 40$ to get into a sim league

If it was a too-legit-to-quit sim league, with prize money... i'd drop 40

that's more what i was thinking CLE. There could be some sort of prize money associated with the championship/etc. Although I guess if there was no prize money they could probably do it for free. It's just a lot more time and effort than a fantasy league.

if the 40 $ is for the winner of that season (or something near 40$) it would be a wonderful idea but other wise i don't understand the part of the money.

I voted for yes but it would have to be based off of being able to have multiple leagues for multiple sports and also some sort of prize money(or a reduced price for a 3 year membership). Any prixe money wouldn't necessarily have to be like the full cost coming back due to the fact that if you buy the membership you would get access to more then just sim leagues

If the $40 bones cover the cost of full access to ESPN insider, unlimited entry to any and all sim leagues (in any sport) and some sort of prize pool...sure I'd do it.

That is what I was originally thinking. Obviously you would get the ESPN Magazine subscription and access to Insider material online...the sim leagues would be above and beyond.

I think a better idea would be to have each person have a single slot open for sim leagues, meaning that they can join one league, whilst if they pay, then they have unlimited access. And then, maybe a fee (like $5) for just sim leagues separate from a whole $40 they'd have to pay if they didn't want ESPN Insider. Just my 2 cents.

i like the idea as well but i think it is a little expensive for me, as i dont have a huge income as well at the moment. They should look at the age bracket they are directing there addience to i would say around 15-25 and those age brackets wont have huge incomes so yer i dont really like having to pay, i would understand if you where getting the espn insider and other stuff but what if you didnt want that you only wanted to be in the sim league that shouldnt have to cost anything if you just wanted to be in the league?
this is a sick idea imagine how poperly it would be.

I don't really wanna pay, and I don't like having "ESPN Insider" it's fun to guess who you think is going to do well in real life.

yer it hink if they where to do it it would be a really really succesful thing because it would be so properly among us sim leaguers but the cost would keep people away.
