The players introduced included Daniel Gibson, Mickael Pietrus, Rudy Gay, Linas Kleiza, Ben Wallace and Nate Robinson. The players were each greeted with their new jerseys for the upcoming season and complimentary muffin baskets from Baked Fresh 4 Life. The players arrived in Minneapolis only two days ago, after being traded from their previous team or being signed as a free agent. After the Press Conference, the six of them spent time together and went bowling, as the General Manager wanted the six of them to gain chemistry. The other five new Timberwolves, Quentin Richardson, Rodney Carney, Zaza Pachulia, Brian Cardinal and Chris Quinn were also planned to come to the press conference, but could not make it due to not being in Minneapolis or being ill. The five of them apologized to the organization and promised that they will be in Minneapolis by tomorrow, due to the fact that the season starts in two days. Chris Quinn is the sick Timberwolf, he is suffering with the flu, but says that he will be over it by Sunday.

Both Rudy Gay and Mickael Pietrus were named the captains, and they both happily accepted. Rudy was the first selected, as the organization felt he has the most talent and everyone on the team gets along with him. Mickael was the second selected as he has experience in the NBA and is a true leader. The organization also considered Ben Wallace, as he is the eldest of the team, but they went in other directions when they saw Mickael showing leadership skills in the team's first practice. Timberwolves Trade Fan Favourite03/05/09 Minneapolis, Minnesota - The Minnesota Timberwolves were busy Tuesday night, as they traded away fan favourite Al Thornton to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Many Timberwolve fans were disgusted by this trade, but the organization says have no fear. It seems that Al Thornton wasn't getting along in the locker room, almost like the cancer of the team. In return they got rookie forward Jason Thompson, a player the team were trying to obtain for many months. Thompson fills the need of a young big man the club was trying to get, everyone thought Bogut was the answer the Timberwolves were looking for, but he wanted no part of Minnesota. Insiders say that once Bogut got traded to Minnesota he demanded to be traded to a sunny state. Many fans and GMs from others teams think that Thompson won't be the player the organization think he will become, but the General Manager of the Wolves knows he will become what they think he can be. They are looking to sign a explosive Center or Power Forward in the future to pair up with Thompson to make a deadly Twin Towers. The Timberwolves also acquired Jeff Green and Udonis Haslem, going to the Lakers was Andrew Bogut and Quentin Richardson. This trade many fans are happy about, Green can replace Thornton easily and can quickly become loved by the fans in Minnesota. Jeff Green is better then Thornton, and he isn't a ball hog. After this deal was agreed upon the General Manager knew Thornton was going to be the odd man out, and immediately tried to get Thompson to fill the hole Bogut left. Unlike what Thornton expressed when traded to Minnesota, Green seems to be thrilled about being trade to Minnesota. He cannot wait to play with Granger, Boobie and Thompson. Haslem is also excited about the trade, and thinks he can help the team win. This team is for sure a rebuilding team, and it seems that the General Manager does not want to trade Jason Thomspon, Jeff Green or Danny Granger. He would if the right deal came is way, but other then that he said that these three players are the counter stones of the team, with Gibson dishing them the ball. For right now they are untouchable, but their play and other things they do could potentially change his mind. Danny Granger, the captain of the team, was one of many on the team who recommended getting both Green and Thompson. Green, Haslem and Thompson are already with the team and the locker room is now perfect.
