Year 1: $6,000,000 Year 2: [blue]$6,000,000[/blue] Year 3: [blue]$6,000,000[/blue] Year 4: [blue]$6,000,000[/blue]
We realize that a starting job is ideal for Ricky, but we woud like him to step back for a moment and take a look at his career. He is 28 years old, has been in the league for 10 years now, and has only made the playoffs twice. We can offer something that Atlanta can't, and that is a chance to be a part of a winning organization. If Ricky signs this contract with Atlanta, then he is basically giving away any hopes of winning an NBA title in his lifetime. We would highly like him to reconsider, and ensure him that he would be getting ample playtime as our sixth man.
If he doesn't like it after one year, and wants to start somewhere, then he can opt out. We jsut want to give him a chance to actually make something out of his career.

The Hawks organization would like to offer Mr. Davis
Year 1: $6,000,000 Year 2: $6,500,000 Year 3: $7,000,000 Year 4: $7,500,000 Year 5: $8,000,000
Team Salary Year 1: $62,752,909 Team Salary Year 2: $49,278,518 Team Salary Year 3: $42,186,227 Team Salary Year 4: $32,000,000 Team Salary Year 5: $12,000,000
$35,000,000 / 5 years
The Hawks organization won't stoop to the level of the Heat's organization and slander another team. The Hawks offer your client a starting job for a much improved (despite what the Heat say) team. His addition will move the Hawks into the hunt for the playoffs and in the East anything is possible. I can't guarantee a playoff appearance in year one but your client sees the improvements the Hawks have already made and I can guarantee the organization will continue to make the necessary improvements. Yes, your client is 28 and in his prime so he may not have another 8-10 years to wait for a developing team to challenge for the title but this isn't just a developing team anymore and with Mr. Davis on board this team takes the next step.

I think you are slandering your own team..
+ I'm not really sure where you think I made something up... all I really said was he doesn't have a chance for a title in Atlanta... which he doesn't

Ricky has decided to take the money and a starting job. He signs with the Atlanta Hawks. We appreciate Miami's "want" for my client, but in the end it was all about starting and helping a young team make the playoffs.
