The Los Angeles Clippers would like to offer Stromile Swift a 5 year deal worth $25,000,000. We feel this is an appropriate offer for Mr. Swift, but we're willing to do a little negotiating as far as adding options, IF he would like something. The reason we front-loaded the contract a little bit is so we stay even more competitive next year in free agency. If Stromile would like the contract structured differently, he may request it, but this gives him a large chunk up front (have a little more fun while he is younger!), plus a very fair contract afterward. Also, this helps us put a better team around him in future years.
Year 1: $10,000,000 Year 2: $3,000,000 Year 3: $3,500,000 (Player Option) Year 4: $4,000,000 Year 5: $4,500,000
Total Team Salary: 08/09: $41,034,360 09/10: $17,000,000 10/11: $7,500,000 11/12: $8,000,000 12/13: $4,500,000
Stromile would be the starting Center on our young team. Although Stromile is still young himself, he already has some nice experience, and can be one of the leaders of this extremely young squad.

The Wolves are very interested in making Stromile a Timberwolf. We would really like to see him as the starting Center for our team this year. We are looking to make some trades to bring better players to play around Stromile.

The Clippers organization sees that we still offer guaranteed 15 million, whereas the Wolves only offer guaranteed 6.5 million, so until/unless the player agent says something about wanting a different contract from us, we're staying with our original offer.

We would like to point out that we have removed the team option and it is now a guarantee 20 million.

We have matched the 5 year 20 million dollar offer, and would love to hear what the player agent says as far as which team has a better shot at Stromile.

We are very committed to having Stromile join out team so we have made a bigger offer. The Wolves would also like to hear what the Player Agent would like to say.

Minny has upped his offer to 5 years-25 million, it looks like.
As it stands right now, he likes the Clippers team situation a little better. Obviously the extra 5 million pretty much cancels that out. One thing that that we do request is, please add a player option to year 3. As you guys have said, Stromile is still young and I want him to get the opportunity to sign a monster deal if his play dictates it.

We have added a player to year 3 for Stromile's liking. We hope that he decides to sign for team, we really like what he brings to the table.

We have also added a player option to year 3, and have matched the 5 year $25,000,000 contract. We still have almost 39 million in cap this year even AFTER giving Stromile TEN MILLION this year. This virtually guarantees we will not be dealing Stromile any time soon, and shows a huge commitment to him.
While we would be willing to put up more money if Stromile and his agent think it is necessary, we think it is at the point it would be best for Stromile to simply make his decision.

We request that both teams hold at their current offers. We dont want to see a bidding war. Stromile will make a decision within 24 hours.

Thank You. We find that Stromile would be a very important piece of our team as we are looking at Ben Wallace to switch from Center to Power Forward this season.
