We have also guarnteed 5 mil and 3 player options if Amir decides he wants a new contract. We would love to brong him back to the orginaztion and would love it if he signed with the team that drafted him.

We do see that LA is offering him more money, but we could offer Amir key mins to help his development along with advice from vetran players on our team. Plus we can pay him more next year IF he decides to opt out of his contract. Also looking at LA's roster we our not seeing much playing time for amir. At PF Beasley, Bass and B.Wright are there, At SF Peterson and D. Wright are there

The Knicks would like to offer Mr. Amir Johnson a 5 year contract worth $10,000,000.
Year 1: $2,000,000 Year 2: $2,000,000 Year 3: $2,000,000 Year 4: $2,000,000 Year 5: $2,000,000
2008/9: $57,385,080 (Including team options)
The New York Knicks are a re-energized organization with the acquisitions of Monta Ellis, Danny Granger, and Carmelo Anthony. The one thing we are currently lacking is a quality PF. We believe Johnson would be a perfect fit for our team, with a lineup of Ellis-Granger-Anthony-Johnson-Craig Smith (FA hopeful). Johnson is an up-and-coming talent and his youthful vigor would blend in well with our young stars. Johnson will love coach Bruce Pearl's up tempo system. And who doesn't want to play in Madison Square Garden?

We know the offer from NY is going to be hard to refuse, but in NY Amir dosent really have anyone to guide him. We really want him back on our team and will do everything to keep him with the team that drafted him.

Amir, didn't DET have the opportunity to resign you not so long ago? In NY, we are making a commitment to you with our long term offer, which starts out 4x that of the Pistons. Not only do we have quality talent for you to run with (Anthony, Granger, Ellis), but you will be getting starting quality playing time. You have the opportunity to flourish with us. And you love our "guide" ($$$)! Not to mention Pearl's orange blazer...

If Amir is interested in playing for the Clippers, we're contemplating offering some more money. New York is tough to turn down for him, I'm sure, as it seems NY just promised Amir the starting PF spot. We would just like to point out that with Detroit, he says that he can give more minutes to Amir than the Clippers can, and we just don't see it. #1 - Dwight and Sheed play at the 4 and 5, plus Grant Hill at the 3. Sheed and Dwight especially, will probably play most of the game at their positions. If a backup comes in at the 4 or 5, it will be Maxiell and Warrick. Warrick also plays some SF, so really (this is just my opinion), but I would assume NBA Live will have the 3/4/5 backup spots covered almost exclusively by those two guys, plus Carney (who can back up the 3 and some 2) is in DET, and is still rated higher than Amir. We don't really see the argument from DET that he can offer more playing time. We are signing Beasley of course for this year, but after that Bass is only a 69 (and could get traded still), Darko is starting at the C but we may cut him or trade him this year, depending on what happens or if there are any offers, and we are looking to trade Morrison, which would slide Dorell down to SG backup, and Brandan down to SF backup, thus possibly making Amir the first option off the bench at PF (if Bass is traded). Yes there are some "ifs" in there from our side, but the really important part of it is this - Detroits starting lineup is set for at least this year, if not the next few. There is ZERO chance Amir starts there, even if he improves 10 rating points in the next couple of years. On the other hand, Amir could start in LA (fabulous town by the way ) if he continues to improve during his contract, and can at the very least easily work his way into being the primary sf/pf or even C off the bench in short order. We don't see that opportunity in Detroit. Back to NY for just a second...we know he was offered the starting job there (so all the things I said about DET may be meaningless if NY stays true to his word) but we see a possibility in NY that he could just start Simmons or Evans or Bogans at the 2 or 3, and Melo or Granger at the 4 (both have played the 4 IRL) thus making the lineup more like Ellis/(simmons.evans.bogans)/Granger/Melo/Craig Smith Even if he doesn't do that, Jeff Foster will possibly mess with Amir's playing time, because that just seems to be how NBA Live works! haha So we don't know that the starting job would really be guaranteed in NY, but we do acknowledge it is a nice offer. Once again, to show Amir that we care, we are going to put up some more money for him.

We have modified our offer to match NY's. We give him more money up front so we stay even more competitive next year in Free Agency to continue building our young team.

Sorry to add even more, but we just noticed that NY also offered Kris Humphries a contract. In this league Kris is a 66, and Amir is a 65. I think all three of us agree Amir has more potential and would probably prefer to play Amir more than Kris, but usually NBA Live does not really care about those things. To get Amir to play before Kris, OKC would have to change Humphries' primary position, and that would then mean that Humphries would no longer be the "first post off the bench." We'd just like to point out that OKC has said IF anyone makes promises and breaks them, there will be penalties.
NY I'm certainly not saying you're lying, I'm only trying to make sure all the facts are out there right now.

Amir, to squelch the assumptions going around: as of right now (if everything goes according to plan), is to start you at the PF position. We are planning on a Ellis-Granger-Melo-Amir-Smith lineup with a second five of Free Agent PG (yet to be determined)-Evans-Simmons-Humphries-Foster (Malik Rose and Bogans as the 11th and 12th men). We have shown our commitment to you by our initial offer, which is still the highest. You will be THE post on our team (not playing second fiddle to Humphries or the great Foster).

We just question how you are going to get NBA Live to do what it never does? If you want Humphries to be your backup PF, he will have to have his position be PF. If it is still PF, LIVE will start him over Amir if they're both PF position and Humphries is a 66 and Amir is a 65.
Just curious at this point.
P.S. both our offers are now 5 years and 10 million...

NY sets the starting lineup, not Live. The Humphries possible signing has nothing to do with Amir since the Knicks have made it obvious that Amir is #1 and Humphries will be backup. We think Amir would have more of a problem fighting for playing time against Beasley and Wright than Humphries and Foster. And the Knicks made the offer first and likes to consider ours the highest for that distinction

1. OKC has already said making a "first offer" gives no advantage, at least when he's the Agent (honestly haven't looked at who is the Agent for Amir yet, but my guess is it's similar).
2. Last year I had Mobley on my bench for a lot of the year, on my Depth Chart, but he kept starting, because he's rated higher. Live will start the better rated player, even if you don't want it to, and the only thing to do about it is to change that better rated player (Humphries in this case) to a different position, in his case I guess like SG/SG so he doesn't interfere with Amir's PT. If you do something like that, then your promise to Humphries may not be able to be kept.
