The Miami Heat would like to offer a contract to Devin Harris.

Why should Devin Harris come to Miami?
• Money
• Championship Contenders
• Playtime
• Great Locker Room
Money
The first reason that I would like to discuss as to why Devin should come to Miami is the money. We fully trust that Devin will live up to this money, and if he doesn’t, it will be our fault, not his. We feel that this contract provides this young player with a substantial amount of money and a long, guaranteed contract. We would like to point out that the drop in Year 3 is due to our potential need of resigning both Boozer and Allen that offseason, but the contract evens out to $12,747,599 over 5 years because of the increase we have included in Year 2. We just feel that Devin deserves this money, and we want to help him get it.
Championship Contenders
Just at a glance, no other team can offer Devin both a nice contract and a championship caliber team. We have an extremely gifted team here in Miami, and we feel that Devin fits perfectly into our lineup. The team is defensive-minded, and executes extremely well. One reason that we can offer Devin all of this money us because our team is already so solid. We have maybe the best bench in the league, and our starting lineup is also of the best in the league. Devin would be filling up the stat sheet with loads of assists every night, whether he is playing a pick and roll game with Carlos Boozer, kicking it out to one of our league leading three point shooters on the wing, or throwing up an alley-oop to Tyson Chandler. We would also like to point out that there will be plenty of scoring chances for Devin too, since he is coming to a defensive-minded team here in Miami. We just don’t see how it gets better than this.
Playtime
If Devin chooses to come to Miami, we would like to assure him that he will start every game that he is not injured. He will be getting as much playtime as he wants, and will be our franchise PG. Our backup PG, Marcus Williams, is no where close to Devin in skill level we believe, and would be just that-- a backup. Sometimes it can be an issue for someone to go to a great team because of playtime, but there is a whole in our lineup at PG, that we would like Devin to fill for the next four years.
Great Locker Room
So, lets say there is another team out there that Devin is highly considering. How is he going to choose? We believe that our locker room can be a reason for him to choose Miami over somewhere else. The guys on our team are just great. The GM has done some moves recently, sending away some trouble makers, and bringing in great people to be around. Shane Battier is known as being one of the nicest guys in the NBA. Ray Allen and Tyson Chandler have both founded charities to help the underprivileged. Even Carlos Boozer is known for being a great team guy. We would like for Devin to know that this team would welcome him with arms wide open, and he would always feel comfortable in Miami.
So, to wrap things up, we just feel that Devin Harris is the perfect fit for our team, and we would love for him to come to Miami. We will be open to negotiations if the agent finds something he does not like in this offer.
