We would like to offer Shaun Livingston a 1 year contract extension worth 3 million dollars, followed by 2 years of Team Options plus a Player Option in the final (4th) year.
Year 1: $3,000,000 Year 2: $3,000,000 Year 3: $3,500,000 (TO) Year 4: $3,500,000 (PO)
We know Shaun has been a starter at a young age already in his career, and has been successful. However, his recent knee injury IRL does admittedly worry us a little bit, which is the reason for the Team Options. To help offset that a little bit, we offer the Player Option in the final year. If he proves himself healthy, we would understand him wanting to opt out of his 4th year, and we will either give a better offer, let him sign elsewhere, or work out a deal to trade him so he could be a starter.
08/09: $27,534,360

Shaun is pleased with the money offered but would feel much safer with the second year team option removed. He does not believe that his previous injury should continue being a problem and would appreciate the vote of confidence by removing that option in the second year.
