Great year with us this year! We believe that you are the perfect Center for our Blazers organization and if you keep your form, it is a 100% guarantee of you getting the starting spot with us once again. Great Job!

My client and I agree that he is the perfect center for your team, and he really enjoyed playing there last season. But,my client is young and has not made much money yet in his career. Ideally, he would want about 4 mil per season. Also, he would like to include a player option in case he deserves more money near the end of his contract. Make this happen and Desagna would be glad to resign with the Blazers!

Desagana Diop (69) | Last Season's Salary : $2,146,000
Offering: $11,200,000 / 3 years
Year 1: $4,750,000 Year 2: $3,250,000 (PO) Year 3: $3,200,000 (TO)
Total Team Salary: 08/09: $42,017,224 09/10: $32,487,127
We have adjusted it, we have a bit more flexibility this year with the cap. We dont want to offer contracts beyond the end of 09/10 because we are looking to resign our young stars during that year. I agree that we would love Desagana to play with us on the long term and i guarantee that if we don't take the Team Option on the 3rd year it means we are looking to give him more money as a reward for having 3 great years with us. We fill that this offer is reasonable.

We like that you have adjusted your offer, but we are still looking for a bit more money. We understand your want of a team option, but the team option is not guranteed money to us, and we are a bit skeptical about signing a contract with a team option.
Counter Offer: 3 years, $12,000,000, with a PO the third year
Year 1: $4,000,000 Year 2: $4,000,000 Year 3: [blue]$4,000,000[/blue]

Offering: $12,000,000 / 3 years

We have again adjusted the salaries a bit more. As i said no player has a guaranteed contract beyond 09/10 season because if a re-build is required because of the form of the team i want to give myself every opportunity of doing so. Looking at it in the long run, we have offered the 12million requested where 2 years of the payment is considerably higher than the "non guaranteed" year and the chances of us picking up that 3rd year is extremely high because if your client can continue his consistent form, he will see our options and he will be the cheapest best center our there for us so we wouldnt need to go out and source for a starting C which means all in all he will get the 12 million as requested.

Once again, we do not feel comfortable signing a contract with a team option. If my client is injured or drops in production, we would still like to have the guranteed money. We will accept this new deal you have proposed if the team option is taken out.

If we are going to offer a 3 year guaranteed contact we will have to make a slightly lower offer for it. (money wise) Your client needs to understand that we are offering a considerably higher pay (approx 2.5 mil more then what he gets right now) in his first year, close to 2 million more the year after that. We just don't want any players getting contacts beyond 2 seasons from now unless they are all-star perennial players. Obviously if we didnt see much in your client, we wouldnt be making such a hard run for him

We understand your concern, and we like that you hold your team in such a high regard. Desagna really can't see himself playing anywhere else, and would like to come to a compromise for slightly more money with the team option included.
