The Portland TrailBlazers officially re-signed young Center Desagana Diop to a new contract extension. Details of the contract were not released as per team policy but it is rumored to be a 3 year deal worth about 10-12 million dollars. We had quickly caught up with the Blazers GM after he got off the phone with Desagana, we asked him on his thoughts of re-signing their young Center, "We are extremely pleased that we were able to resign our Big Man, it was a pleasure to work with his agent and we got a deal done pretty quickly and we thank them for that, now its up to Desagana to show us the spirit and pride he played with late last season"We quickly reached Desagana for comment and he was also pleased of getting a new deal worked out because he didn't want to play anywhere else, and also congratulated fellow player Luol Deng in reaching an agreement for a new contact and hope they can make the All-Star team together in the near future. As the Blazers GM was about to leave for home, his PA called him back to the office as a call came through from Detroit's GM about a possible Maggette deal, we chased the Blazers GM into the office but quickly got kicked out by security, but rumor is out that they are willing to deal Maggette if they acquire young guard Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins in a deal, if not, the Blazers look like they'll go into the Free Agent market to pull out a PG.
