yeah i made some rankings before off season started, at the end of off season I'll do another article on where every team should be in the standings via the off season.. enjoy (forgive me on some errors i made, i no i missed some)
Orlando Magic: Do I really need to explain why? This team is by far the best team in the whole league, Davis-Lewis-Jefferson-Ming = Championship. Hands down, he is doing a great job with the magic and the future seems really good. They also have a bit of money to use this off season so who knows what Mid Monster could pull out of his pocket! If I where in the South East Division right now I would be literary be crapping my pants lol.
Milwaukee Bucks: New GM may equal to a serious contender to the Magic, IF and that’s a big IF, they are able to re- sign the core players. They do have a lot of money (around 37 million) so it should not be a problem. There is a lot of question to be asked about this team, how much will Emeka get? How much will Martin want? If Emeka walks, who is out there to help this team in the backcourt? Easy answer, if he’s there and the Bucks have money boy oh boy I would sign D12 baby (not the band, the player)
New Jersey Nets: The Nets GM looks like he has big coming up and I can tell he wans a true PG. If he gets this True PG, watch out for the New Jersey Nets! It looks like the Nash trade has fallen a part but I bet he will re work a deal, just think, Nash-Howard-Prince-West-Okur = another serious contender. The Nets only need 1 more assets to make there team complete and if they accomplish that, they will be one scary team!
Detroit Piston: This is a hard one, Detroit could go from 4th to 2nd in a heart beat BUT it all depends on one factor, Howard. Will he re-sign with the team who only has about 5 million in cap? I don’t think so; the GM needs to make a move ASAP before it’s too late. This reminds me of the Magic when he was trying to re-sign Vince Carter. If Detroit is willing to trade assets (like ford, Peterson and so on) for nothing, you will see D12 coming back, if no moves are made, expect D12 to just walk out the door and get the Max amount of money. BUT if this team gets Howard, they will finish pretty good in the standings, but they need a SF, so let’s see what Detroit has in store for us this off season, should be fun to watch.
Philadelphia 76ers: After acquiring Agent Zero I serious taught they would win the division and go far into the playoffs. But I have to give props to Philly for making the trade for an injury guy. I think a healthy Agent Zero and KG = big things in Philly. The question is would Philly do some trading this off season for a big star since both KG and Agent Zero are Free agents next season? That’s another thing to watch with Philly, if they pull off a blockbuster deal with some team who will to give a lot for KG or Agent Zero, watch out, Philly could easily move to top 3 in the east.
Toronto Raptors: The Raptors are looking to pull of a huge deal which will take place soon. It is a 4 way deal which would bring a BIG back court, but will really hurt there salary cap. With this 4 way deal soon to be completed and hopes to be accepted by the committee, you will see a great 1,3,4,5 punch, but that leaves 2 open, who could fill it? With estimated around 7 million to spend the GM has made it clear he wants Star bury or Ricky Davis to fill that part. I think with veteran leadership like that, we could see a great team, but it all depends on what happens in the off season; if both Ricky Davis and Star bury don’t accept the offer, watch out! The Raptors are in trouble!!
Miami Heat: Watch out for the heat, there on fire so far! With already getting Vince Carter this team is looking very good for this upcoming season. All the GM needs to do with the team is get a great PG, I wonder if 20 million can get you a PG? Answer is HELL YEAH, this team is ready to kick ass in the east and watch out for them. Just imagine, Harris- VC-Peja-Boozer- Kaman, man that’s a killer lineup. But the awful part about this is his team is in the Southeast where we already have Magic and Bucks going head to head for the division. Can the Heat pull themselves into the category of the Magic and Bucks? My answer is with a good PG yes they can.
Washington Wizards: They had one heck of a run at the end of the season to make the playoffs, I really love the way the GM has made his team, T-Mac and Bosh, boy that’s 2 killer players on one team, but the question is will wiz keep T-Mac or trade him? If he trades T-Mac, what will he get in return? This team also as a few questions going to the off season this year but I can tell you one thing for sure, he isn’t rebuilding!
Cleveland Cavaliers: Band and Caron Butler is a great 3, 4 punch but that’s about it. The team needs to get some solid bench players as well a decent starting lineup. Don’t get me wrong this team came 6th but I think Caron and Band need a solid PG to help them, don’t you? What really sucks for the Cavs, they have players who makes over 6 million a year on there team, and all expire next off season. I think the Cavs will be a great team when he is able to get ride of Snow, and Jones and Gadzuric. All I can wonder is what could the cavs do this off season? They can’t sign anyone; there right on the cap of 70 million, all they could do is trade. I wonder if they would trade Brand for building blocks for the team. It’s only a matter of time
Boston Celtics: I think they will be a great team if they can land a stud player that can play the backcourt for them. With Jose being a big FA player, expect him to land around 8 million a year, but after that the GM has about 12 million to spend, I wonder who he could go after? If they can land a big name on there team, I would watch out for Boston, they have a young team but also a scary team if the GM plays his cards right.
Atlanta Hawks: They have a great team, well a great young team, and a famous quote from the Hawks “ At least Horford is good” That’s about right, but the GM has made some key moves, landing Mike Miller and Basrbosa. I think this is a great move for the team, and they also over 25 million in cap DAM!!!! lol, this team if they can land a big name they will have a better record than last year, I can bet you anything on that. The GM knows what he’s doing and it’s great to see a GM who builds young for one season and kicks ass next. Watch out!
Chicago Bulls: They are also rebuilding there team but the question is, how long will they be rebuilding for? More than 2 seasons or less? The bulls have a lot of questions marks around them, but yet again the GM is a smart one, and knows what he’s doing. Maybe he might wait out this season and make a huge run next season? It’s only a matter of time to see what he is thinking.
New York Knicks: They are looking really good, with a lot of picks and a lot of salary look for the New York Knicks to have a great off season. I am not 100% sure on how much improvement it will do for the team but I am certain they will finish better than they did last season. They have a lot of building blocks and if they play there cards right, you will see a new and improve team. This can not be said for the real NBA New York Knicks.
Indiana Pacers: I know it’s a shocking move from 9th to about dead last, but this team needs a lot of help, there are about to lose Devin Harris who was the reason for the late season run. All they have is wade, and don’t get me wrong, wade is a great player but he can not do it by himself. This makes me think, would the GM trade wade to rebuild his team? That’s a question I am not 100% sure of, but I 100% sure than Harris is gone but welcome in Rondo. At least they got a younger PG
Charlotte Bobcats: I don’t mean to be mean to the team but they are rebuilding, and they know that and we all known that. With rumors going around saying K-Mart and PP will be traded, it makes you think, what will happen to this team? Where is it headed? But if others leagues I have been with this GM, he knows what he’s doing, maybe he can make this team into a playoff team next season?
Orlando Magic: Do I really need to explain why? This team is by far the best team in the whole league, Davis-Lewis-Jefferson-Ming = Championship. Hands down, he is doing a great job with the magic and the future seems really good. They also have a bit of money to use this off season so who knows what Mid Monster could pull out of his pocket!
