And let the trading begin...
Well were about 20 minutes from the trading season officially about to open. Now for teams high in stature like New Orleans and Orlando they take there business very seriously, they want to make the best possible moves for there teams. For instance, last week the Magic GM, known as the Mad Scientist said, "We would only consider trading Chandler for Dwight or KG." Thats how much he what Chandler brings to the team, because he is a very defensive minded player and it give Orlando a good balance.
Now for teams that are at the bottom of the barrel it is like taking a kid to a candy shop. They will be trying to make all kinds of moves, and will be open to any scenario. A team like LAC is set up great for this off-season. With a young lineup already that consist of players such as Conley,Rondo,Wright, and soon to be Michael Beasley. Let alone around 46 million dollars in cap space and a boat load of picks. Teams like LAC will cherish this opportunity and look to have a great season.
Things will get feisty to, there will be heated trade talks, people backing out, and maybe even a GMwho decides he cant take it anymore and resigns. There will be blockbuster trades that get all the hype and there will lackluster trades that get little but still every trade is important, because hey lets face it your 6th man could hit a 3 with 0.7 second left in game 7 of the NBA championship. Then you will look back and say it was all because of that one little move.
Another thing you may see a lot of this off-season is division foes coming into play. If a team like Miami makes a couple of huge moves don't be surprised if you see Orlando retaliate with one of his own big move, because teams hate seeing there division rivals getting better while they just stand pat. I know from experience and its not fun.
One thing is for sure though today, you will see lots of moves go down. I'd expect at least a couple that come in to the commissioner's office right when the trade season begins. Look for some surprises, heck you may see big names moving all across the globe. Yes thats right our sources tell us that the Olympikos are in serious negotiations about dealing 50 mil in cap space for Kobe. Thats just a joke.
