Ben Gordon was a huge piece in finding the perfect playoff formula for this lackluster Minnesota offence. However, he was not quite enough to set them straight.
With the playoff deadline nearing, the Minnesota Timberwolves phone line was heating up. Negotiating deals with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Rapters, the Timberwolves scratched out two trades mere hours before the deadline.
The first was with the Cavaliers. With BG's contract expiring at the end of the season, he will most likely be offered a pretty penny next year. So the Cavs would take on two monster contracts, Dan Gadzuric (61) and Troy Hudson (64)(a total of $12,553,195 next year). Along with Caron Butler (87) and Eddy Curry (82). However, Minnesota's night was not yet over. Toronto and Minnesota worked out a blockbuster deal that would send Charlie Villanueva (78), Jamal Crawford (76), Gerald Green (72), and Sebastian Telfair (73), in return for five-time all star Jermaine O' Neal.
With the end of the season nearing and the Timberwolves are a mere 1.5 games out of a play-off spot. Things are looking quite pleasant in Minnesota.
