This is it, the NBAL western conference finals just one series away from the biggest stage of em all the NBAL Finals. The Seattle Supersonics or might i say the future Oklahoma City Sonics led by the trio of Michael Redd, Marcus Camby and Andrei Kirilenko will face off against the defending champs New Orleans Hornets led by reigning Finals MVP Tim Duncan, and all-stars Manu Ginobili and Chris Paul who are trying to lead the hornets to their first ever repeat in franchise history and also in league history.
This is a series to watch with the top 2 teams in the west battling it out for western supremacy and a chance to win the big one, The NBAL Championship. The Seattle Supersonics who might move to Oklahoma City next season is the most surprising team this season. This is their first post season appearance and boy they have made the most of it they beat one of the toughest teams in the west, the offensive juggernaut Phoenix Suns to get to where they are now and be able to try and finish their Cinderella season with a blast. The defending champs New Orleans Hornets also having a marvelous season finishing the season at the top of the league is looking to make a second appearance in the NBAL Finals and try to make a repeat for the first time in their franchise with season MVP candidate Tim Duncan leading the way.
These two teams have faced each other during the regular season and both have shown that they can compete with each other. SEA has beaten NO in numerous occasions even during last season where they ended NO's historic 35 game win streak which led to a series of losing streaks for the hornets. The hornets have shown that they are able to compete even with some instances where they encounter a significant amount of injuries and have players to be able to step up and make up for it.
I'm not going to go on the details of each position in analyzing the series i would just say the overview of each team and what they should do to be able to win this series. The starters of each team have shown they can play thats why they are here right now but the one problem with the starters of both teams are inconsistency. they have to play consistent night in and night out if they want win they don't need to depend on one player to carry the whole team they just have to be consistent. the other thing both teams have to focus on is their bench. they have two different bench players. the NOH have players that are veterans and know what its like during crucial situations for the Sonics its different they have some young players who are athletic and can be an impact player off the bench. Their bench also have some flaws, the hornets bench are aging and might have difficulty playing in a long period of time while the sonics have the problem of inexperience with only a few of them being able to experience to the playoffs in the past.
This is a great series with two great teams who have their strengths and flaws but it all comes down to who wants it more. this could be the start of something great.
