well I think that he means that you are doing a backloaded contract, you are giving less money to the player in the next years (I think that this is a backloaded contract) and im pretty sure that you cant do that

Actually I think backloaded means the first few years of the contract are low in money with the back end of the contract being really high in money. When you do the opposite high money early in the contract with low money later in the contract, that would be called frontloaded.

an example backloaded contarct would be
Year 1 2 million Year 2 3 million Year 3 7+ million
With majority of the money coming at the end of the deal, it would be a backloaded contract.

The Jazz would like to offer Moore a 3 year/$9,000,000 contract. We currently need a starting center, and would like Moore to fill the position. If we do trade for a center, Moore would still be one of the first big guys off the bench.
Offering : $9,000,000 for 3 years.
1ST Year: $2,750,000 2ND Year: $3,000,000 3RD Year: $3,250,000
Total Team Salary: 07/08: $65,203,359 08/09: $51,269,985 09/10: $38,929,500

The Jazz would like to say that since their trade with Charlotte fell through, Moore would possibly be the 3rd big man off the bench. We apologize to Mikki and his agent if that changes his mind.

Mikki Moore could be the starting PF or C alongside Pau Gasol, and with the injury-ridden players Sean May and Nenad Krstic, he could get a lot of playing time if he doesn't start.
