Are you suggesting Willis is that good? Unless the A.L. changes him, he'll still be a sub-.500 pitcher IMO. the guy had 2 bad seasons that's all. let's not forget he dominated from 03-05, was the driving force with Beckett for the 03 World Series, and he won 22 Games and had only 12 loses in 2005. he isn't that bad, but his mechanic is still suspect though. his werird arm throwing motion still bothers me. the guy will now have the pressure takin off him he will be the 3rd starter and will all the run support he will get alot of wins in fla no wonder he did bad they traded away everyone

He hasn't been the same since that international tourney. Also, he was getting back on track last year and fell apart during his last 20 starts. He still is young but he needed to get out of Florida. Playing for 800 fans can bother you and as a pitcher that seems to feed off of the fans' energy that could be a big reason why he has slid.
In Detroit he will be the 3rd, 4th, or 5th starter and the pressure will be off of him. I expect a 20 win season (if healthy) and his ERA to be around 4.00. He should have a comeback type of year.

I've heard another report that the Marlins made the Tigers accept Dontrelle along with Cabrera. A "You cant have Cabrera unless you take Dontrelle" type of thing.

I've been a fan of Dontrelle for as long as he's ben in the pros so I don't think being forced to take him in a trade is a bad thing.

He's been pretty bad the last few years. They tried to change his arm slot before last season, but it didn't really work...And that's in a weak national league. There's a lot of potent offensive lineups in the American League...I just don't see him being all that effective if he continues to pitch the way he has.
