My client and I understand your reasoning behind the theory of "a veteran would play for less money if he has a great shot at a title", but in this case its not an ordinary veteran. Chris Webber is a legitimate starting center & starting centers in the 80's get PAID big time. Looking at your cap situation, we do not feel you are going to be able to sign my client.
My client is expecting 9-10 million a year from a bidder come this free agency, so I am going to have to decline this offer.

I respect your ability to get rid of salary to try and free up space for my client. We like the offer, and is similar to waht we are looking for.
Switch the 3rd year to a player option and you got yourself a deal.
