Ok. There are a few teams out there that have PM'ed me asking that we should have a draft lottery. I have stated since the league pretty much began that this league will not have a lottery, but if enough GM's think they that there should be one I will implement one. Right now the draft is determined solely on record, and any tied records were determined by coin flip.
What do you guys think?

Honestly I've never have been a fan of the draft lottery so I say no.(And I'll also add in that this doesn't affect me so my reason for saying no isn't so I can benefit from it.)

Don't vote WITHOUT posting a reason why.

The reasons I voted yes are:
Less chance of tanking
More excitement--a lot of teams have a chance to get the first pick instead of just the worst
More realism--just like the real NBA=none of the top three teams got a top three pick
Makes trading picks more uniform--makes 6th and 2nd picks about the same, where as now there is a world of difference

I would vote no because I have a deal that is done except for waiting for trades to resume for a pick. I don't think i would have traded as much for it if i had known it could be worse. But i am biased so I will be ok with either way.

yea i agree that it should be done after this year...i know it is bad coming from me cause i have #1 but it is unfair because most of the trades i have done are because i have the #1 pick. but next year it would make it very realistic

i no i have my pick and its not that bad, but i would votes yes. I no its a gamble but if theres a good player that can chnage your team around in the next year draft, you might as well disotry your team, right and have a bad record. I would say do it randomly, i no a websiste where you put the 12 teams who did not make the playoffs and its picks an order for you. IMO i thikn Yes is the right way to go. Its also makes it fun to see what pick you get

i vote yes, because if there wasnt a lottery then you could just tank your team and get oj mayo etc. next year.
if there is a lottery, how would you do it? would there be %'s like in last years draft, with the worst record having a 25%, the second worst having a 20%, 3rd - 15.5% ?

I dont allow tanking. You have to play your best players at all time.
As for how I am going to do it, I have no idea yet. Once I do , I will let you all know.

Yes. Adds a twist and doesn't allow tanking as pointed out.

I don't really like the lottery. The NBA is the only sport that has one and I've never been a fan. I've been in leagues where I had the 2nd worst record and got the 5th pick and had the worst record (not due to tanking but players underperforming and injuries) and ended up with the 5th pick. It does add some excitement for a team in the lottery but it hurts the worst teams too much and makes it that much more difficult to rebuild.

Alright, We cannot have a draft lottery this season due to many factors. First of all, all pending trade discussions are based on a set pick. There will be too many GM's affected by this. Many pending trades have picks being the basis of the trade.
I know many of you are going to feel shafted, but this is the way we have to do it for this season. For next season, I will implement a lottery.
EDIT: If any of youw have gripes (which I expect) please PM me.
