After their cinderella run was cut short by the Detroit Pistons in the second round of the playoffs, the Nets wasted no time in getting fresh new faces on their team.
The Nets have been looking to make their team younger and add more athleticism on their roster, and thats what they just did. Trading the aging Brad Miller for a younger Okur is a big help to the Nets which gives them that 3-point shooting threat and can also make mismatches in offense.
Then another blockbuster trade occured when the Nets traded future hall-of-famer Jason Kidd, the turbulent Ron Artest, Brian Cook and John Salmons for the Nets former point guard Stephon Marbury, superstar Tracy Mcgrady, Brian Skinner and Christian Laettner. Marbury will have his hands full for this team as this team is looking to have their offense like the run-n-gun style of the Phoenix Suns. this will be a testament whether he can handle and lead the team or not.
Then the Net started to look for a shooting guard who can shoot the ball in order for their run-n-gun offense to work so they got Ben Gordon and a 2nd round pick in exchange for Marcus Williams, Devin Brown and Antoine Wright.
The Nets didn't stop there, the Nets then traded Mcgrady along with Leattner and an 08 pick to the Dallas Mavericks for Josh Howard, Andres Nocioni and Dan Gadzuric. This move is a good move for his team. they acquire Howard who has the potential to average about 20+ ppg which makes up for the scoring T-Mac gives and they also acquire a player who can shoot the 3, rebound and guard bigger players in Nocioni.
The Nets again looking for someone who can fit in their offense, traded away the seldomly used Simien to the Jazz for Dee Brown.
The Offseason isnt over and i think the Nets GM still has a lot of trades in mind so you east teams better watch out or they may become the next eastern conference champions
