With 3 teams having a 3 - 0 record in the 2nd round i think its time for me to analyze what went wrong and what went right
WEST:
Phoenix Suns vs. Minnesota T'wolves (SUNS LEAD 3 -0)
----This series was over even before it started. The Suns' offense is to much to handle for the t'wolves who are not only young, they also lack the playoff experience they need to be able to play down the stretch. They should at least try to win one game to keep their morale up but for me im looking to the Suns to advance to the conference finals.
notes: The T'wolves in my opinion had a great year with a very young and inexperienced team they managed to reach the playoffs and even advanced to the 2nd round. With the draft coming up, the T'wolves are looking like a playoff team thats here to stay.
New Orleans Hornets vs. Dallas Mavericks (NO LEAD 3 - 0)
----This series is very surprising in my eyes,i thought this was one of the series that would go 6 or 7 games. The Mavericks who were one of the best teams coming into the playoffs just didnt show up to play in the series. after knocking out the #3 seeded Lakers, the Mavs looked liked they were back to their old selves but in the following series they showed lack of heart and did not do the things they did that made them good.
Notes: The Mavs should make moves in the offseason that would help their backcourt and be able to acquire a true SG and also be able to find someone who can complement Dirk in the frontcourt and a C that can endure the length of the season. if they do that they would be able to become one of the best teams once again.
EAST:
Detroit Pistons vs. New Jersey Nets (DET LEADS 3 - 0)
----The season of the Nets looks like its coming to an end trailing 3-0 in the series. The Nets were able to beat the Cavs in the 1st round but they should take in mind that the Cavs and Pistons are totally different teams. The Nets were able to win in the 1st round because they were able to shut down the player the team depends on to win. The team they face in this series has 4 or 5 guys who are able to take the game in their hands and win for them. The Nets need to defend as a team if they want to win in this series and keep their season alive.
Notes: The Nets already have good scoring options so they have to work on getting players who can easily score but at the same time DEFEND. They already have Artest so what they have to work on is getting a defensive player who can defend in the post and be able to shut down players like Stoudemire or Garnett.
Miami vs. Milwaukee (MIA LEADS 2 - 1)
----This series is not yet over and it looks like its gonna go to 7 games. Both teams played really well so it all goes down to this: DEPTH. The Heat has one of the deepest bench in the league and has proven that with having the 2nd best record in the east. The Bucks on the other would have to know that they shouldnt always depend on their starters since if one of them gets injured you're going to be in big trouble so im not yet sure who will win this series but i think this series will go 7 games.
Notes: The Bucks have to focus on their bench this offseason and try to acquire quality players who can play either on or off the bench . if they do that they can easily be the best team in the east.
