If they put Bynum on the bench, who plays center, and please don't say Gasol. He is one the softest PF in the game, centers might snap him like a toothpick. I hate to say this (and it's rare) but I agree with everything LA is saying. Gasol can play center and did a DAMN good job on Dwight. Ariza isn't as good as people think, when you are the 4th best player on the team you are going to get open looks. He's pretty good but no super star, Artest is better than Odom and Ariza put together. You can say whatever you want, head case or whatever but the fact is Artest is one of the most underrated players in the game. If LA keeps Odom, lord have mercy...It's not Kobe vs. Lebron...it's the Super Lakers vs. Lebron and an old Shaq. PS. They may have Artest, but Bynum still sucks!

Gasol can't play center for a full season. Playing center for 5 games in the playoffs is one thing, doing it for 82, plus the playoffs is another thing. 2. If you think Artest is really better than Ariza and Odom combined, you really aren't being reasonable.

It's a proven fact LA is better with Gasol and Odom than Gasol and Bynum. I don't get why people hate Gasol, he should have been finals MVP imo. 2. Houston could be considered the 2nd best team last year, who was there best player? Ron Artest, and now he's a Laker? Instead of having 2 guys that did well as 3rd and 4th option (and Odom may still be around) you have a guy who did well as a 1st and 2nd option coming over to be your 3rd option...plus he's a great defender. Sorry not buying it, Artest is VERY underrated.

I don't hate Gasol, he is a very good player, he just isn't a center. Gasol weighs 250, in comparison Bynum weighs 285, 35 pounds is a big difference. Going against guys on a nightly basis who weigh more than you do will eventually take a toll on your body. Also you may very well be right they play better with Gasol and Odom, however with the money tied into Bynum over the next 3 or so years, he is going to play, and more than likely start.
As far as Artest being a 1st or 2nd option for Houston, that is part of the problem to me. The Lakers have to many players that are used to being 1st or 2nd options on their teams. Artest has a bit of a history of complaining about a lack of touches, Gasol complained in the Denver series he should be getting more shots, Kobe has a tendency to fall in love with his shot at times, and LAL said that Bynum is wanting more touches as well. How are you going to keep all those players happy. This is why to me Ariza was the perfect fit for the Lakers, he didn't demand the ball (as far as I know), he was content playing defense, making the hustle plays, and taking the open shots when they presented themselves. I don't disagree that Artest is better a player than Ariza, I just don't know that he is a better fit for the Lakers team. On a side note, it appears that Odom may be coming back to the Lakers.

Cleveland HAS to get Hedo or Odom to be even talent wise with LA, Kobe MAY be the 3rd best player on that team. f**k Boston's big 3, Artest, Gasol, and Kobe is SICK. 3rd best? I understand your dillusion with Artest leaving your Rockets but Kobe is the best player on the Lakers... At least you guys(Rockets) got Ariza...

I don't see why Odom would want to be a Laker, they treated him like shit and blamed him for the last 5 years when it wasn't his fault. I guess he is just in love or something, but I'd go to Cleveland if I was him. New York, my point was Gasol and Artest are damn good...people need to get off Kobe's dick he isn't what he was. Kobe probably is the best player, but they were a lot better when they ran everything through Gasol (after he wanted more touches against DEN, which back to BOS's post...what is wrong with wanting more touches?) Point is Gasol and Artest are a lot closer to Kobe than people think.

Ok, I agree with you on those points, Gasol and Artest are incredible players and Kobe possibly isn't as explosive but I think is more deadly because of his increased poise and having the team-mates to defer to so he can wait till later in the game to have to go off...I think having Artest will increase this even more as Kobe wont have to guard the opposing teams best player which will leave him fresher.

Agreed, just wouldn't shock me at this point if Kobe wasnt' the 3rd best player (not saying he isn't, before anyone shoots my ass.)
