I like it for the Rockies, I don't get why it's all too good for the A's, but I think Billy Beane is smart enough to know what he's doing. The Rockies get a good replacement with Carlos Gonzalez, and 2 relievers. Holiday most likely wouldn't have re-signed, and they would've lost him anyways. The reason I don't get it for the A's is because they're rebuilding, but it doesn't really hurt them all that much anyways, unless the lack of Coors field hurts Holiday.

I agree with everything you said Utah. Trade makes ZERO sense for the A's. They are trading away 3 MLB ready players for a rent-a-player essentially, as Holiday is a UFA after next year and there is no way he re-signs there. Billy Beane is way too smart to make this move alone. Im sure he has some sort of trade lined up that will make their team a contender this year or one that is involving Holiday.
