Raptors Welcome Andrei Kirilenko but What about Baron Davis?
With the New Season about one week away, the Toronto Raptors made a big move as they traded away newly Center Zydrunas Ilgauskas, who was start this year in Toronto and play the Center role in the lineup, but the GM had other plans as he shipped him away to Dallas for AK47. No not the Gun AK47 the man they call Andrei Kirilenko. Andrei Kirilenko will bring some needed rebounding and block shots. Andrei Kirilenko is well known for his defense when he was playing with the Utah Jazz a few years back.
“The GM needed a center and we needed a small forward or power forward, and Andrei Kirilenko was the person we were looking for. To tell you guys the truth, we could of got Andrei Kirilenko a while back with Chris Wilcox for O’neal but we said no, and now we just gave up Zydrunas Ilgauskas for Andrei Kirilenko. This is a great move for our organization but it did cost us” said the GM of the Raptors
Well the GM new acquiring Andrei Kirilenko will hurt his chanced on re-signing one of the best point guards in the game today, Baron Davis. The Toronto Raptors had over 21 million dollars to spend to re-sign super star Davis in the off season but with Andrei Kirilenko coming here, they have now 12 million dollars to spend next off season, which will hurt the team. The question is will Davis sign for 5 years worth 80 million? But feeling around Canada, is that Davis would want 5 years starting at 80 million and maximum 90 million. Will the raptors have enough money to re-sign him? Time will only tell.

AK: The GM of the Raptors told me on the phone that my role would be playing the Power Froward Role and let Jamsion play Small Froward. In Utah i did play the offensive role and it only worked out 1 year and then i hated it, and my numbers drop.
GM: Yes that is right, he will be playing PF Role but not playing a offensive style system. We need Rebounds, Blocks, and Steals and we know that AK can produce wicked numbers. The type of system he will be playing would be defensive role
