The Atlanta Hawks would like to offer Mr. Marion...
10/11: $10,000,000 11/12: $12,000,000 12/13: $14,000,000 13/14: $15,000,000 14/15: $16,000,000
5 years / $67,000,000
Total Team Salaries w/ Marion: 10/11: $61,458,518 11/12: $35,560,000 12/13: $23,900,000 13/14: $15,000,000 14/15: $16,000,000
We feel that this offer is more than generous considering the team would be investing the most money ever invested in one player under the current GM's regime. Marion would be the starting SF/PF (his choice of course) and would help fill out a talented but young roster. With a legitimate center manning the post (Nene) the Hawks need a player of Marion's all-around caliber to put this team into contention for the playoffs. The trio of Nene-Marion-Landry would provide matchup problems and give this team the best C/PF/SF combo the team has had under previously said GM. The team option is in there just in case the team isn't performing up to expectations and would allow your client to go to a more competitive team.

The Houston Rockets would like to extend an offer to Shawn Marion for a period of 5 years $60,000,000.
Year 1 : $10,000,000 Year 2 : $11,000,000 Year 3 : $12,000,000 (Player Option) Year 4 : $13,000,000 Year 5 : $14,000,000
2009 - $62,670,970 2010 - $44,361,960 2011 - $16,800,000 (if player option is taken) 2012 - $16,800,000
The Houston Rockets organization feel that Shawn would be a perfect fit in the system that we are trying to run. We love Shawn's ability to get out and run, to play great defense, as well as his all around offense. We feel that Shawn will be perfect for our new look. He will be the starting SF or PF depending on matchups and will team up with the best Point Guard in the league, Chris Paul. We know that Shawn is at his best when he plays with a quality point guard and his numbers with great point guards dont lie. His defense on the perimeter is tenacious, which is a theme on this team. We know he likes to run with the likes of Caron Butler. Those two are a great pair. We would love to have his veteran guile and leadership on this club.
We also know that Shawn is getting up there in years and would like to win a title. So, we have given him a player option in Year 3. We ask that he would give this GM 2 years of guaranteed service and then if he does not like the way that the team is headed he can opt out his third year. However, we feel that he will love the city of Houston and he will love how this GM will do anything to build a quality team. He has a proven track record and has proven he knows how to run a team. So, we hope that you will join this franchise.

Right now it is basically money vs. a shot at the title. The Hawks are offering 11 million more(we know that with the player option you will most likley decline at that point in his carrer) but Shawn thinks playing with CP3 could really be good for him as he knows he was at his prime when he got to play with another great PG in Nash.
So we will make our choice within 24 hours. We would like if ATL got rid of the team option, that could boost your chances alot. As for Houston a little more money in the last 3 years would be nice.

Shawn- we have upped our offer by 15% to $46,000,000. We know that you will fit in well here with our system. Playing with Chris Paul will be good for you...think about the easy opportunities he will create for you. Also, contract wise we feel this is a great fit for you. We have given you good money as well as flexibility with a player option in year 3. This GM has set this teams finances in the positive direction and we should have great money to spend on a star free agent next year as well. If all goes to plan, you should be surrounded not only by the talent that we have now, but also free agency should yield another good player. We are glad that you see our vision of a title and we hope that you jump on board

Wait a second. You said you'd make your decision within 24 hours and gave both of us a chance to improve our odds of signing him. Now all of a sudden you only give Houston a shot at improving his odds of signing him? Shouldn't a decision have been made?

ATL, Marion didn't think he would be getting anywhere near a 60 million dollar deal. That is more money than he knew what to do with. What he is really concerned about is that championship. He feels that while you are a good team its nothing like getting to play with CP3. You would of gotten him if not for HOU upping the offer. Don't take it personal, there are still plenty of quality FA looking for a home.

You gave us both a chance to improve our offers and said a decision would be made within 24 hours. Instead you post a message directed to Houston saying, if you do this you get him. That isn't a decision. You should have just said that he signed with so and so and left it at that and not completely shut me out of signing him as you did with that post. Why wouldn't he offer another year? He probably won't even be their GM in 2014 and that isn't even taking into account that this league is still around by then. It was a moot point. There was no reason for that post. That's what I'm saying.

Just to inform the play agent that if Mr. Lewis is indeed a Celtic (the PA said he was, but I never got a chance to respond?) that I will be offering Mr. Marion a contract and we will match Atlanta's money.

Marion signed with Houston... \ Why the hell would you do that? You know that most everyone offered on Lewis would offer on Marion if they don't get him...whatever.

You can offer to more than player, just have to prioritize them. Don't be all pissy just because you lost out.

No because Orlando would have said "you are offering on Marion" or something stupid like that, I can offer more money than Houston and have a better team. It's stupid but whatever I know what happened.

That's not true Charlotte. I had an offer to Rasheed Wallace as my 2nd priority up unitl the Clippers said he was more interested in Portlands team. At that time I removed my offer to Wallace.

I didn't want Marion unless I got Shard, I didn't know everyone was going to sign at the same time for one thing, and for the other I didn't even get to answer my questions for Shard. I think this offseason has been a shame but oh well.

If you prioritized your free agents, it wouldn't have mattered that they all signed at once. How is Detroit to know your interest in Marion, or your intentions, if you don't say anything. This off season has exposed somethings that need to be fixed, but those issues have also been addressed in my mind. Sign and trades have been eliminated for future seasons, and we are working on a way to improve the quality of free agency. Outside of those 2 issues I think the off season has been fine.

The best teams didn't get the players, if I had been eliminated for Rashard immediately then I would have gotten Marion and that's a fact.

I have a feeling that you are trying to blame this on ORL somehow, Saying that he made you wait and then went with BOS on purpose. Just stop arguing and get over it.
