My letter to the CMs if you all must know:
Committee members,
I think it is best to keep this situation behind closed doors, here is my take on whats going on. First off, I believe this is an example of you guys abusing your power. This trade meets all cap rules, and it not "lopsided" to the point where I think you gentleman have a right to reject to. To all arguments...
A. I did not receive an All-Star in return
...I was not looking to acquire one for Bynum. I was offered one or two aging All-Stars, but if you look at my roster you can tell that is not the direction I was looking to go. Andrew Bynum himself has never been on an All-Star team and while he may/most likely will someday be I did not receive any offers including a young superstar(Nor did I expect any).
B. Courtney Lee and Marvin Williams compared to Bynum
...These are the two guys I SPECIFICALLY wanted in this deal. They fit exactly with the type of team I'm trying to put together, especially on the defensive end. Basketball is not all about stats whatsoever, but if you were to go there...lets look at the facts.
Real Life:
Bynum's

Williams'

Overall, I think your original objection to this deal was given with great injustice. Like all General Managers should, I have a plan in place. This is absolutely not something that should stand in its way. Unfortunately your actions have done just that. I shouldn't have to to explain myself but in this situation I must(Once again, it should not come to that).
As you can tell, I'm in stage one of rebuilding this team. The goal for this off season is to put together a deep, young nucleus to be the foundation for this process. I'm keeping my cap low for a reason! I want these guys I have to develop now(Lee and Williams fit great into this nucleus, btw) and I can still be in a position to be aggressive in future free agencies. Trust me, I am a committed member here and I will be here to stick out this process. Why would I take on a major contract for a superstar now?
I mean no disrespect through this PM, it was necessary for me to get my point across. Once I hear back from all of you I will re-post this trade, hopefully seeing better and more fair results.
Thank you for your time,
Indiana Pacers
