The Bucks would like to offer Arenas an extension
Year 1: 15,000,000 Year 2: 16,250,000 Year 3: 17,000,000(PO) Year 4: 18,000,000
Total salaries: 66,250,000 over 4 years. I am dealing him to SA in a sign and trade and he has the cap room for it

Ok, Couple of things here just from an official standpoint.
1) The total is $59,000,000....not 49 mil. Just a typo or miscalculation, but needs fixed.
2) You need to have SA's salary totals, with Gilbert's contract included, for each year of the contract.
I'll start handling the extension once those things are done.

Year 1: 66,584,036(After deal and signing) Year 2: 40,000,000 Year 3: 36,000,000 Year 4: 31,000,000
These salaries are accurate as of my Salary chart and as of the recent deals that I've made..
As far as the offer it is 59,000,000 but I can't change that.

We understand the hesitancy with Gilbert, and thus putting in the Team Option for year 2.
However, we feel strongly that Gilbert could get a very similar offer in Free Agency, but without the Team Option.
If you take out the Team Option, we will also allow you to take out the Player Option, so a little give, a little get.
Then we will look more closely at the money.

We can agree to take out the Team Option if that is what Mr. Arenas wants..

For the record, I'll need to have Milwaukee actually accept the final deal, if we can come to an agreement. Now, on to what Gilbert needs to make this offer good enough for him to pass on Free Agency:
More money up front. I'm really thinking at least 15 million in the first year, and no year should be lower than that.
This is the age where players generally get their biggest contract (their 3rd contract). We know Gilbert has some concerns IRL about what his future will be, but it seems like he will be playing again next season, and still has some crazy elite talent, in our opinion. We want to make sure he gets a good amount of money in the first year especially, considering we know what his rating is for this year, and it's a very nice 86 still.
So yea, add more money up front, and should probably be 15-17 or 18 mil throughout the contract. A player option in year 2 or 3 wouldn't hurt at all, though it's not required.

Gilbert is very happy with the money, and loves that just in case he really blows up, he can opt out in year 3. We see this as unlikely, but it's a nice comfort at this point.
Gilbert accepts the extension offer from the Bucks, and is really looking forward to playing for the Spurs and for his new GM TB, who he has a long relationship with.
