Off-Season Schedule:
*Note: This is just a rough estimate on what will be happening. Many of these items will be happening simultaneously.
1. Draft Lottery held somewhere during the 2nd round of the playoffs.
----I will be releasing more info on this as the date nears, but as of right now I be using NBA Live's lottery. I will capture it on video and post it.
----Full draft order announced shortly afterwards.
2. Player rating changes announced sometime after the finals.
----All players will be re-evaluated amongst the staff to see whether or not any of them received increases or decreases.
----Just like last year, we suggest that each GM send in 3 players they think deserve an increase on their current roster with explanations and comparisons to similarly rated players. If we, the staff, feel your arguments are strong enough we will go through with the change.
----Reminder; No more boosted players. Those players that received boosts will be docked 2 rating points right when the season ends. Now, if a player deserves to be where they were at with the boost, they will be.
----Eventhough the real life 09-10 season is already underway, we will use last years real life performance to gauge the ratings for the most part. Maybe 80% from last year and 20% from this year.
3. Salary charts update to 2009-10 calender season.
----All GM's will need to do this and be approved before they can resume trading. There will be some sort of check-in that we will have.
4. Team options period held.
----All GM's will have the opportunity to pick up options on certain players. If a GM declines the option, the player will hit free agency. If you have ideas on trading a player with an option, you MUST pick it up before you do so. Trading a player with their option not picked up will not be allowed.
5. Trading Resumes.
----You may resume trading IF you have been cleared to by myself or the salary czar.
6. Rookie Draft held.
----Rookie signing period will shortly be followed. There will be a new/updated signing scale for the 2009-10 draft. You may sign your rookies after the off-season free agency period.
7. Contract extension period held.
----GM's will have the opportunity to re-sign their possible free agents. They will have to negotiate with the player agents to see if a contract can be worked out.
----More details on the contract extensions will be released as period nears.
8. Off-Season Free Agency begins.
----Bid on players that are in the free agent pool. The player agents will sought out the best offer for the player based on certain criteria. A signing is official once the player agent accepts the offer.
9. Rookie Signing Period.
----Once OFSA is over, you will be eligible to sign your rookies. You may go over the cap when signing rookies.
10. In-Season Free Agency begins.
----This is just a technicality, but once "off-season free agency is over" you must make your offer in the "in-season free agency" section. This will mostly be used to fill rosters that don't have the minimum 12 players on roster.
11. Roster Cut-Down Deadline.
----Teams must have between 12-15 players on their rosters. If you do not make cuts or signings accordingly before the deadline, I will make them for you. Trust me, you don't want that .
