Problems in Memphis?
Memphis Derrick Rose is not reaching expectation so far this year after being drafted 2nd overall in this year draft. He is currently ranked 8th among rookies in scoring with 11.9 points, although 1st in assists with 5.9 per game and 2nd in steals with 1.4 a game. The expectations for Derrick Rose were extremely high this year, as he had to guide a very talented team to the playoffs, but yet there are a .500 team. On the other side, Paul Pierce is having an outstanding year with Memphis, putting up 26.3 per game which leads the NBA Legends league.
But now it’s rumored around the league that Memphis is fed up with his current team and looking to make a deal which is include superstar small forward Paul Pierce, and also young point guard Derrick Rose. Memphis is very worried about his team, it has a “must win and make it to the playoffs” type of team but they are not proving it so far this year.
“I am fed up with this crap, we need more people to help PP out, and Paul is only 1 person. We need Rose to play better order to make us a playoff team. Basketball can be related to hockey some what, in hockey everyone needs a great goalie to win right, but in Basketball we need a great Point Guard to win, and we do not have that at this point in time. If someone were to offer me a decent Point Guard (ranked about 77) and a great Center like Yao or Howard, I will trade both Paul and Rose for them. This is how bad I need to make a deal, and if that mean I have to trade the best scorer in the game ….. I will. ”
Harsh words coming from the GM of Memphis, but he wants to make an impact trade very soon in order to make his team play a lot better. Could this be the end of Derrick Rose? Is Paul Pierce going to be traded for better assets? Only time will soon tell.
