We would love it if DeShawn took our offer and came to Detroit. He would play as the back-up SG along with a little SF. We feel he could give us the best bench in the league with Stuckey-Stevenson-Carney-Maxiell-Lopez. We are giving him the most money possible with our cap situation and have added a player option next year if he wants to look elsewhere for more money, but as we have stated we would love to have him as a part of our team.

DeShawn feels that he is worth more than that, and could've gotten a better offer to sign with Orlando, where he feels more comfortable, and gets just as good a chance to win.

Deshawn is open for bidding again as ORL cant use the MLE. He went over the cap after free agency/extension period started.

The New York Knicks would like to offer DeShawn Stevenson a 5 year deal worth $21,000,000.
Year 1: $3,500,000 Year 2: $3,500,000 (Player Option) Year 3: $4,000,000 (Team Option) Year 4: $5,000,000 (Player Option) Year 5: $5,000,000
08/09 Team salary: $59,385,080 (Including team options)
The Knicks would like for Mr. Stevenson to join our organization. He is a steady veteran at the guard spot, who will be the first off our bench at that position. We fill if there is ever an injury to Monta/Granger/Melo, Stevenson will be able to be placed in the starting lineup, and production at that particular spot will not drop off significantly, which will allow for our up tempo style of play to continue to flourish. We also like his confidence, as he has shown he does not back down to challengers.

DeShawn thinks he can pull in more money. Though he hasn't gotten much interest in him, he is getting a job on the bench, and would want more money in that case.
Also, he would like to get a PO in there somewhere around the 2nd to 4th year to possibly go to a contender, where he would rather be.

We would like to re-offer Stevenson with a 5 year deal worth $25,000,000
year 1: 3,000,000 year 2: 4,000,000 (Player Option) year 3: 5,000,000 (Player Option) year 4: 6,000,000 (Player Option) year 5: 7,000,000 (Team Option)
team salary 08/09: $ 66,731,753 09/10: $ 23,500,554 10/11: $ 5,000,000 11/12: $ 6,000,000 12/11: $ 7,000,000
Stevenson will be competing with Wally for the starting SG position. He will give us a great boost to go deeper into the playoffs. We give Stevenson player options in 3 of the 5 years if he chooses to leave at anytime for more money.

Right now, DeShawn's priority would be Golden Sate, New York, followed by Indiana. He would love to go to New York to play, despite the fact that they are rebuilding, he thinks he could bring a lot of veteran leadership. In Golden State, he'd be close to his home in Fresno, and he would get a chance to compete for a starting spot on a competing team. Indiana just has the dough for him to rack in, and not many other incentives.
It's pretty much down to the last 2 right now, and NY would have to offer more money to clinch him.

Modified offer. And we would like for Mr. Stevenson to know that he could compete for starting spot as well, as we could go with a quick lineup of PG Ellis-SG Stevenson-SF Granger-PF Melo.

with our recent trade, we will have more cap space to offer stevenson more money, if he could wait till the trade goes through, we will offer more money to him.

Mr. Stevenson, we would like for you to join us as starting SG. Due to the fact Craig Smith chose elsewhere, Coach Pearl has decided to go with a quick lineup this year. We will be starting Ellis at PG (20pts & 4assts), 6'8'' Granger at SF (20pts & 6rebs), 6'8'' Melo at PF (23pts & 10rebs), and 6'11''Foster at C (9rebs). We feel that your veteran leadership would be vital in the backcourt with Ellis running the point.

DeShawn likes the thought of going to GS, near home, and to be able to compete. So NY, you're going to have to blow us away with an offer, as GS's situation is a lot better.
