2008 NBA Draft Grades
Well the 2008 NBAL Draft is over. What a day it has been here in New York City. We have had some shocking picks and well some not so shocking picks, I.E. Michael Beasley. We have also had some blockbuster trades go down as well and even though the draft is over those phones are still ringing and dont be suprised if you see a couple of big day draft names move to a diffrent team as this off-season moves foward to opening night.
I've been covering the draft all night here and have wrote up what I call my, "2008 Draft Grades", Now these our my opinon of what the teams did here on draft night. Dont lash out at me if you do not like them because as I stated these are my opinon.
I have also sat down with the rookies and have gotten some interviews piled up, Ill most likley be posting an interview a day starting on Saturday. The first player to be asked some questions will be none other that #1 pick Michael Beasley and following with some of the stars that were drafted this year.
Before I get to the Grades here our some shots we took from a amazing night here in New York.
-The draft class posing before the picks are made
-Beasley being called up as the #1 selction of the NBA Draft
-Knicks fans cheering on the news of Dwayne Wade coming to Madison Square Garden
-Joe Alexander is finally called up to center stage as the Utah Jazz select him
-Gm's and Players awating the next pick
Here they are your 2008 Draft Grades
Well until next years draft, signing off

Here they are your 2008 Draft Grades
Team | Drafted | Grade and Anylasis |
Nathan Jawai, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute | C, Ibaka would of been a better overall pick then Jawai
Semih Erden | D, Not gonna get anything special with this pick
Jason Thompson | B+, Thompson has all the skills to be a solid big man in the NBA
Kevin Love, Anthony Randolph, D.J. Augustin, Nicolas Batum, DeAndre Jordan, J.R. Giddens, Omer Asik, Goran Dragic | A-, Randolph and Jordan were a bit of a reach but overall solid draft
Sean Singletary | C, Solid 2nd rd. pick
None | N/A | |
Derrick Rose, Jerryd Bayless, Shan Foster | B+, Great pick with Rose, but picking another PG instead of drating Love or Westbrook is a big question mark
Brook Lopez | B+, Lopez slipping all the way down to #11 could be a steal
Robin Lopez, Mario Chalmers, Donte Greene, Joe Crawford | A, The Warriors really had a wondeful draft and even though they mostly picked in the bottom of the 1st Rd. they still got great value especially with Donte Greene
Maarty Leunen, Tadija Dragicevic | D, These picks most likley wont turn out to be anything special
Roy Hibbert, Ryan Anderson | A-, Two very good big men in college that should both fit in well in Indiana
George Hill | B+, Great pick here by the Lakers, Hill could turn into a very good combo guard in LA
Michael Beasley, Marreese Speights, JaVale McGee, Bill Walker, Kosta Koufos, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Alexis Ajinca, Nikola Pekovic, | A+, A masterpiece of a draft for the Clippers, He did have a ton of picks but made each one count
Joey Dorsey, Mike Taylor | B-, Never really know how late 2nd round picks will turn out in the NBA
J.J. Hickson | A, Mark my words, Miami could be getting the steal of the 2008 Draft
None | N/A | |
Ante Tomic, Patrick Ewing Jr., Walter Sharpe, Malik Hairston | C+, One of these guys should turn into a solid NBA player
None | N/A | |
None | N/A | |
Russell Westbrook, Eric Gordon, Brandon Rush, Danilo Gallinari, Darrell Arthur, Trent Plaisted | A, Ended up turning Gordon and Westbrook with a couple other guys into D-Wade
None | N/A | |
None | N/A | |
O.J. Mayo, D.J. White, James Gist | A, Excellent draft for the Suns netting Mayo along with a couple of nice 2nd rounders
None | N/A | |
Courtney Lee | B, Lee is a solid pick for the Kings franchise
Deron Washington | C-, Not a whole lot to choose from here
None | N/A | |
Kyle Weaver, Sonny Weems, Sasha Kaun | B, Solid picks in the 2nd round by the Raptors
Joe Alexander, DeVon Hardin, Serge Ibaka, Richard Hendrix | A, Utah really did a fantastic job. His picks of Alexander and Ibaka where great seeing that he got them when they wern't expected to be available
Darnell Jackson | C+, Really like the pick by Washington, Jackson is underrated |
Well until next years draft, signing off
